well for me, I'm using this comp as a much needed boost in ability for scratch building. but also in later rounds I'll be adding to things needed for Calliope

My first thing is done. Ive been playing with bronze because whenever they release a new vanilla marine codex Im doing Minotaurs. I think Ill forgo the Griffon Sephia next time.So here he is.

Blimey that was quick painting... I can't even paint my first one until I buy some new paints... plus building/converting/modelling is where my skills lay anyways, and I'm happier building

So whats the plan for No.2 40Ksfu?

Very nice! I think that's one of the best over-all statues I've seen in a long while.

Thanks gents. And I consider anything from Gitsplitta to be high praise. As for #2, Im thinking about using some of my DA bits to make a dais and a book. That seems like the kind of thing they wouldn't want misplaced or forgotten.

at 40ksu... that is a stunning piece...! looking really good... tho i would ahve loved to see it done in copper with verdigris weathering... but that´s just a personal issue^^

on a second matter... i want to make a statue too... i have a nice idea... but this would need a slightly biggerized base for my idea... would say 19cm be totally OOT? it will be a cool fountain with watereffects and such things... but i need more room to play and build upon...?

Now now Vik...60mm is the biggest. Save your idea for terrian in the later rounds.

As panda said, save it for the later rounds, as this opening round is just to ease people in... Round 2 is going to be a doozy too btw

@Viktor- Thanks and I thought about doing the bronze weathering but 2 things stopped me. Ive only done it once, poorly, and I want there to be at least one non worn out/demolished monument in the Imperium.

Up next really basic one- Thing that shouldn't have been left behind.

(begins to re-enact fight) So they came at me and I was all like get this and take that and chopping things off! I wasn't even tired , man! Then this real big one came at me. What? Yeah, thats his head over there don't interrupt me, man, I'm Champion. So I grabbed my sword and said you want some? And he hit me and knocked me back but, naw I wasn't hurt, and I was like.......................hey, wait..................(looks around)....hey....(nervously asks).........where's my sword?"

and i see your point mate... there must be some stuff in the grim dark that is not totally ruined and weathered... after all new stuff get´s produced en masse in the IoM every freaking day...
