I think you mean "We're waiting for entries by ZoBo, Moolet and Modock to show us all up." Except Bottle, who's already showed us all up.

No-one's showing you up this month, CREED. Your entry is very strong indeed. There has been a lot of great stuff. I really like those Dark Reapers from El-Torminator, for example. A bold choice to go completely monochrome (or did you have the camera set to B&W?) but hugely effective.

Good luck in the tournament, Bottle!

He's done! My local priest is done!

I'd say he is my favourite GW mini to date. Full of wicked character. I went with a very pale demonic flesh which I'm happy how he turned out.
For the first time I used dry pigments (on the base) which I absolutelly love, the pigments I mean, I see them using alot from now on.
I also tried a few need tehniques, starting with metals I did NMM with metals, ups that doesn't make any sense. Well the shadows are
completely matt while shinning highlights are metals but it's not that clearly noticeable in the pictures. Next, first time I tried painting
glowing eyes, I'm not sure about the result. Most of the textures are freehand, like on the cloak, boots, belts and battle damage.

Overall I'm happy about the paint job. Good luck everybody!

Nice! I agree it's a great mini, too. I painted two of them, one normal, one converted, and they're just great to paint. You've done an amazing job on him too.

Here are my final pics of my Archon. He's going to be on my Armies on Parade board, although the way things are going that board might be just a blank 2 foot by 2 foot bit of wood with just the Archon standing on it.

The funny thing about painting him is that I spent ages doing the armour on the front of the chest and his stomach. I had the light reflections absolutely as perfect as I could get them. I was really proud of how they looked. And then of course I stuck the arms on and you can't see them at all.

I used the same techniques for the "leather" cloak as on the Jesse James mini I painted a few months back. It came out well again, which is good and I guess proves that the leather on the other mini wasn't a complete fluke! I'm more than happy to post up a quick tutorial of sorts it anyone is interested in doing it themselves. It's shockingly easy.

Out of interest, does the cloak look like it was made from several different people with subtlely different skin tones? It's supposed to. I basecoated it in a load of very different tones, but the techniques I use to make it look like leather (albeit human leather) really toned down the differences. I wanted it to do so to an extent, but I worry that I may have killed the whole effect. What do people think?

Well I've had a busy week, started rebuilding the inside of my garage last Friday and its taken far longer than I expected, still not finished so took this evening off for a big model painting push and now my entry is done (damn just noticed the 1 day extension so didn't have to stay up till midnight never mind.) Apologies for not commenting on peoples entries as they came in, I've simply just not had the time to check this thread.

Congrats to everyone that has finished.

My Killa Kan Sniper for your enjoyment (hopefully)

Leather looks great, feltmonkey - you can certainly tell the skin comes from multiple victims. I'd love to see a tute on how you did it.
Modock - unreal job, man. Your blending is always great but this time you've really outdone yourself!
Great weathering and base, Midget - if your whole army looks this good, it must be pretty awesome.
Great work, everyone.

Sadly, no finish for me... Real life happened this month, and I had practically no time for painting, so my guy is unlikely to be done before the end of the weekend.

Good luck to everybody!

Well... I failed as well. It is almost midnight EST and I didn't get close to finishing. Will need at least 3 more sessions to complete. The model got broken part way through too...

Will post a pic of the incomplete tomorrow.

While I'm gutted I once again failed to enter every month this year... I'm not displeased with the progress off just 2 sessions.

My first entry.

Congratz for your first entry mate!

Thanks guys for the comments.
Awesome looking diorama Chris. I really like the clean paint job you did!
Yes Feltmonkey I've seen your priests in the slaughter thread. Cracking job on those two.
Great job on the Archon! The armor and especially the skin cloak are really well done...love the cloak!

oh yes...so many lovely entries!...great work you lot!

...phew, just got mine finished - nothing too fancy this time due to time restraints, just 5 poxwalkers - I imagine things would get pretty "brutal" if they manage to catch up with someone!
...real fun models to paint, a surprising amount of small details on them too, and loads of character

Thanks so much for extended the time limit. I'd have had to rush my pictures last night if you hadn't. I could have continued to paint this brutal beast for the next couple of weeks if I had the time =) Lots of details to add.

The entries are again at such a high standard well done everyone some very nice interpretations on the theme. I'll comment more in the voting thread but to answer some questions from this thread:
@paradigm. I love the contrasts of the cool and warm pallet complementing the smooth and brutal duality of the mini. I think its very well executed.
@feltmokey. amazing. I think the patches on the cloak are subtley different which I prefer but will likely not be noticed on the tabletop. Depends on your priority, for the purposes of this challenge it looks excellent. Most of the things I consider my best painting look a bit non descript from the other side of the table, heh.
@martinof. congrats on first entry. Great work!
@CREEED. No one is showing up your diorama. Its brilliant, I wish I could compose one as well as you have.

I tried to keep the squiggoth much more simple than when I did my last big conversion, the old style ork battle wagon from a few months back. The battlewagon is fragile so I constantly have to fix it. The same with my game terrain. I have tended to make it less functional and more decorative/delicate so I was keeping this in mind when I started this project. I kept the squiggoth simple so that I can load it with 20 models but I've no idea how any of the orks would board the thing. The weapon options, (lobbas and zapp guns) I can just put the artillery pieces inside it (see one of the second to last image below) and I've done a kustom shoota thingy which can count as the big shootas (2-6). I've made a lobba cannon thing too (in my proof images) but that will be painted another day.

This was the biggest thing I've painted, about on par with the stompa really perhaps bigger, so I'm stoked to have it from primer table top ready in about 10 days as I only get about 2-3 hours painting time a day and even with then, my wife feels abandoned! I also wanted to get him done quickly as he is appearing in a campaign i'm running in a week or so.

The colour scheme I chose simply because I've never really painted anything purple (haha!) and the yellow gives a decent contrast and always seems to show up chipping and weathering quite nicely. I don't think its the best colour scheme for the model but it was a fun project non-the-less.
I think the squiggoth himself is too pristine and with my new found practice of chipping plasticard I think may give him a few wounds in the future! (to match all the holes in my thumb from trying to card the plasticard!), and healthy does of weathering powders (I love them too modock, though for me its often to cover up some gakky mistake I made... heh!).

Anyhow, here he is:

These are not for voting purposes but I've also got a few other pictures to show you the scale of thing:

How I'll do his weapon load out

Another of how he may appear on the battle field

Good Luck Keezus, it looks pretty good as it is

Congrats Martinof on your first entry, a very solid looking Death Company marine.

Glad you both finished in time Zobo and Mootlet Both excellent work given the time/amount that needed to be painted.

Just to echo peoples comments the entries from the last few days have given a great 2 pages of viewing. Looking forward to the voting.

All the entries are looking great!

Unfortunately I got pulled away unexpectedly for the last few days of the month! I'll try and finish off at least one guy tomorrow, but understand if it's too late at that point!

I always try to keep this up to date with what projects I'm working on... but they just keep piling up

Is it alright as an entrant to vote? There are some seriously nice miniatures that I would vote for. (I would never vote for myself, of course)
