Hey everybody!

Figured that Vespid might fit the theme this month a) because they're pretty brutal in the new edition, b) because they're pretty nasty close assault fighters in the fluff and c) the job lot of salvaged models I got of eBay a year or so ago were brutal to strip!

I'm pretty busy with Emberlordoffire's chaos warband challenge at the mo, so dunno if I will be able to get everything finished but this is my entry for this month...
An ogre on a mournfang seems pretty brutal...the gobbos may or may not feature in the finished piece but I thought I'd proof them anyway.

I've gotten 10 of my Bloodreavers/Berzerkers assembled, but after seeing Bottle's finished results with the same type of models I'm wondering if I should even bother! Here's the photographic evidence of my progress:

Of course I'm kidding when I say I shouldn't bother, because I'm really looking forward to painting these bad boys.

I've decided to try and paint two minis in a single month (Gasp!) Two slugga boyz for da Waaagh! Proof:

I had a notion about "speed painting" these, but so far it's taken me a combined 3 1/2 hours just to get them to this state (mold lines removed, ready for primer). Something tells me that I shouldn't plan on making my living as a commission painter.

Remembered I still needed a proof pic halfway through the first coat of the first color, oops.
Marine for scale / to prove brutality. Planing an RPG dungeon with mummies as mobs and living statues as "bosses." This one is the slow, unkillable, inaccurate, hero flatten-er. An "off" switch will exist because when even the best attacks will struggle to damage it...

Posting my entry a bit little but here it is, I was trying to focus on getting a few models for my army painted since I've actually played a few games of 8th edition since its release! (first games for about 10 years). The Killa Kans did very well in my last battle, Charging and killing a dreadnought in 1 turn which was pretty brutal. So in homage to that close quarter victory I'm painting a Killa Kan sniper....... (I think it looks cool)

These guys were fun to paint. My “make myself a better painter” goal was to work on my freehand with these guys. Most of the time when I’m doing it, it’s a one-off thing for a banner or the like. Squad markings you want to be more uniform. The destroyer symbol is not particularly complex; just a circle with 3 circular bites taken out of it. But getting that on a curved shoulder pad, and getting 5 to look similar, was a bit of a challenge. The “U”s on the other shoulder was me just trying to match. I could have done transfers, but I figured if I was freehanding one side, I should do the other as well.

Feeling the picture limit on this one. One of the problems with doing squads. I’d like to showcase multiple shots of each guy, some tight zooms on the symbols, etc. Oh well. Part of the game

Overall pretty happy with what I’ve been doing this year. Both quantity and quality are up, and I’ve pushed myself with a few new techniques I’ve not done a lot of.

All done, just got my lord of contagion over to my photographer yesterday so hopefully should have my pics done before the deadline. Hopefully it's even earlier than expected and I'm not posting down the the wire as usual! Feeing really proud of my mini this month, hopefully you all like him!

Awesome entries so far! This might be the push I need to finish my orc boss. Here's the proof picture. I did his wyvern during the spring in other painting challenge so I'll just include the boss this time.

Thanks Jadenim, Although I can't take credit for the actual conversion since I think I got it in a random joblot of ebay and year or 2 ago. I quite liked the look of it so put it to 1 side so something such as this

I think I remember your dragon Ninjapirate for your first ever entry? Hope you are able to match or surpass that one.

re: WIP - yeah I've got nothing done on my Peegs yet. Well I glued them on bases temporarily, otherwise nothing.

I have however almost finished 29 ork boyz and 1 nob. Now just to get back to my other projects lol

I myself haven't even really started painting my entry, although they are all assembled and 10 models are primed. I'm going to paint those 10 and use the Champion, icon bearer, and the three best regular joes to be my entry for this challenge. I'm also going to try to get them all done this weekend, because I've got some Primaris marines that I really need to get back to painting.
