Im like 90% sure thats just a slaves to darkness chaos warrior, probably getting an underworlds gang. Note the extended outline outside of image has same leather boots and plume+ spikes as the STD warriors leader

Hand coming over the left hand shoulder, with the flesh from the shoulder pinned over the right hand shoulder?

Also seems to be a sea drake type scale pattern just behind the hand?

I don't think the following is the best idea, but it is a musing:

what if our appetizer before a full slaanesh release at the end of broken reals are the individual kits for new chaos warriors and knights?

Maybe with a new slaanesh character thrown in for flavor?

Yeah, this is my guess as well, and if it turns out I couldn’t be happier. I’d love to have some proper Warriors in Underworlds. We also have a Chaos staff and Daemon-faced something (looks like a shield to me) from the rumor mill from a while back. I could see those fitting in here. Two Warriors and a Sorcerer perhaps.

A basic Chaos Warrior-themed warband for Underworlds would be an insta-buy for me. Fingers crossed.

... also, there's a unsolved rumour engine pic with a halberd that's similar enough to the Chaos Warriors resin (!) upgrade. So, Underworlds, or a Chaos Warriors kit with sword & shield / halberd build options ...

Looking at it again, I'm definitely leaning towards the Underworlds angle more than a proper kit. Seems there's a shield strapped to the back, poking over the left shoulder, which would make the dual weapons an otherwise impossible loadout for a regular Chaos Warrior, and the only model in the current range with that physical load out is the Exalted Hero Formerly Known As Crom. They also have a topknot, which tends to be reserved for Aspiring Champions or greater.

The final strike against it being a kit is that while it could accommodate a halberd by swapping out the main weapon and replacing the weapon in the offhand with a claimed trophy, the pose and the shield make it impossible to work with a greatblade. I still dream of a full kit that can somehow cover all four different Chaos Warrior loadouts, but this particular fella doesn't seem to be it.

I do agree it’s likely Chaos.

If you look at the left hand side, in the corner of the 4, there’s that star trinket.

Check out the guy with the axe and severed head to the right here, the scaly cloak is attached to the armour in very much the same way:

About loadouts, the current rules reflect what the current models have (or what the designers make of the current kit options). A new kit won't be beholden to that and if it opens up different loadouts, there'll be a new warscroll., Handily GW has just launched a series of campaign books in which such a new warscroll could be published.

I'm not saying that's what's going to happen, just that we can't rule out a new multipart Chaos Warriors kit based on current rules.

As far as I'm concerned, with the present absence of Slaaneshi mortals I'd prefer if the Chaos Warrior was indeed Underworlds. Now, ideally both Hedonites and Slaves to Darkness should get shiny new kits, but if I'm right in my suspicion that we'll sooner get one or the other than a broader Chaos update, I'd rather have Slaaneshi models myself. And with the title of preview calling out Slaanesh, I like to think I won't be terribly disappointed. Not sure GW would opt for "just use marked Slaves to Darkness" a second time. That would not be very nice.

Off the wall, wild speculation is that it's a new release wave for CSM. Warpsmith, Obliterator/Mutilator kit, and Cultists of the Negavolt and pewpewpew varieties.

Hmmm...no overtly Nurgle or Slaaneshi hints and only a day to go!

I would probably not get hopes up for tons of nurgle news, its likely just the new hero, codex, terrain and maybe announcement of a start collecting box. The decay will probably refer to combo of that and undead

Yeah you're almost certainly right. Wonder if we'll get a little bit of a DG codex preview like SM & Necrons did (although that was a specifically-branded codex preview, if I remember correctly)
