I've always loved this. Corvus Belli is the only miniatures company, that I know of, that dares to change/add unit profiles. It not only gives the air that they actually care, but it leaves room for simple tweaks.

That being said, I did get bummed when they removed the CombiRifle+ZVGrenade option from the Myrmidon Officer.

Svarlheima Sectorial List incoming?

Not soon, sadly. I thought somebody of us (for us I mean the Spanish users) had post some info revealed in that tournament in Barcelona, but I see now that we forgot.

- The upcoming campaign book will have some new troops for everyone, but only one new sectorial army (greek themed) for ALEPH.
- Myrmidons will be linkable in that sectorial, but Achilles will not be able to be part of a linked team with them because the team would be unstoppable.
- Some of the news for the next months will be resculpts of existing stuff.
- Corregidor would get more love.
- Existing sectorials will benefit too of the new units.
- Qapu Kalqi (the Haqqislamite sectorial) will see 2 boxes for linkable troops and resculpt unit during this year.

This info comes from two reliable users of the Spanish forum, so it should be good stuff.

It's actually slightly disappointing that Aleph only gets 1 sectorial. The Greek Sectorial was well-known, but I was hoping for at least another.

I think we should write our own.

Something involving the Nagas and Dakinis/Garudas sounds like it could work.

India well come in time, the 3rd book was always going to be light on units. It is focused on campaigns and scenarios, something sorely needed.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

I wasn't expecting different stuff than scenarios when the rumour came out, so anything additional is more than welcome to me. I guess that other cool things like Kazak and USAriadna sectorials will have to wait the 4th book. It's a pity, but I hope they are working on a quality-over-quantity basis, at least.

Yes it will come in time I guess, for now I am still trying to catch up on the other stuff that has been released previously (haven't been into the game for that long!)

Glad they are trying to make a good go of the scenario booklet though, really looking forward to that one!

@Erasoteka, thanks. We'd heard that but your translation is better.

Corvus Beli _RULE_. They don't have the corporate arrogance that has caused so much difficulty with revision and balancing for other games.

As for sectorials, they're pretty hard to balance given that limited unit choice is their major downside (balanced against linked teams and higher availability for included troops). I hope the new units don't throw those limitations off for existing sectorials. I play ISS and would LOVE some Zero-V smoke in there, but it would frankly be unbalancing if we got it. Same goes for the Pan-O lists and then some.

And it's too bad that Achilles couldn't be made to work in a linked team. Of course, it fits his fluff (and his original Homeric character) to not be very good at teamwork when the blood starts flying .

I'm wondering if we'll see any more new rules/equipment in the new book, too. It would be fine not to- things are nicely complicated right now. But if there were, say, rules for calling off-board artillery/airstrikes that would be fun. Guess that could be a scenario-specific rule, but I'd like to see the Infinity battlefield able to reflect focused areas of a larger battlefield including all the nastiness of modern warfare.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

If was hackable, so it could be turned back on the owner and once per turn. I would before it.

You're welcome, and thanks for the comment on translations

I'd say I heard (or read) Bostria stating that Pan-O will never have smoke grenades, so I'd trust that won't change any time soon. And I agree with the additional rules, they have a love/hate thing, because "more" and "new" always seems better and welcome, but it complicates things indeed.

I can see Ariadna requesting an airstrike from a Hind-like or an AC-130-like aircraft... I even thought on converting a 1:35 MI-24 Hind model kit as a crashed vehicle for making a different scenery piece. But it's just still an idea.

The infinity bug seems to have bitten again. I need to wrap up my Carnifex and last Termagant so I can try another Haqqislam test model.

On the plus side, since my FLGS finally has the Al Hawwa sniper in, I'll grab that and some Nasmats to finish up my 200pt force.

That new Haqqislam model looks nice, though I'd like to see a third Odalesque.

Because it is not relative to the proportions of human anatomy. They are remotely controlled from a distance, there is no pilot inside.

Plus, the small head is great to emphasize the walking-shield archetype that the Jotum is.

I still question the horn, but got over such a triviality.

That's not strictly true. There are some suits which are piloted; the Szalamandra and Lizards that the Nomads field immediately spring to mind. The Combined Army has a few as well but PanOceania does trend towards having the "remote" TAGs.

I was simply stating a point, Alphy!

Not every single big mechanized unit for Infinity is remotely controlled--there are exosuits, but they are contained within two factions at the moment.

Oooh, I hope that is a Djanbazan box. I don't like the AP and HMG Djanbazan sculpts, but love the sniper and am currently contemplating the hacker. And what my list needs is moar dakka.

Yes that's what I meant, damned pronouns! ^^

Charles Rampant, have you considered the Janissary (with HMG)? A lot of Dakka, and hard to put down as well. If you can get him into a strong central position he can be a real pain for your opponent.
Or the Maghariba?

I have to admit not liking the Maghariba model at all. It just looks dumpy. I have the same problem with HMGs - all the models are just sort of standing there. Compare the AP Rifle and sword Janissary with the HMG Janissary:

I'm sure that I want to have both statline options, but I'm not sure that I'm all that impressed by the HMG model. It is a real shame.

I actually prefer the older type Janissary! Although I realise it is quite an old model now, and looking at the new one they might be going with the thinner looking models if they do re-sculpt them at any time (I hope not though!) I agree though the pose on the rifle Janissary is not very good, and I don't like the HMG Djanbazan either (although the assault rifle model is quite nice).

Being a fan of Ghost in the Shell, I was forced to get the Maghariba

Have you considered Asawira with Spitfire? Only marginally less powerful than HMG, but from what I have seen these guys are nasty. Amazing stat line, inc. 2 wounds and regeneration (although you have to pay for the privilege).

Hello,
My personal opinion is that the head is most likely a sensor cluster with some back-up built in to the body, most likely the back. The knees would be covering pistons, and screw drives for locomotion (not replacable with out facilities), so need to be up armored, where the head could be assumed to be a redundant system. Also with the larger chest cavity then the othe T.A.G. (Cutter?), it would be viable to have the pilot curled up in a suspension seat inside, however as pointed out above, it also could very well be remotely controled. Where I think this would also work with that size of chest is in HRT rescue, by placing a high value target in the chest for safe keeping and remove him/her out of a warzone.

Regards,
Carl

I'm pretty sure that this T.A.G. IS remotely controlled, so the smaller size head could be due to many things - maybe focusing attention away from it and toward the more heavily armored parts?

Regardless... it is an awesome looking miniature!

Yes it is, along with all of the Pan-O TAGs, they all have the 'G: Remote presence' special rules.

From the rules Wiki

A Ghost, an organic or artificial intelligence is inside a machine, controlling it from distance, but what separates machines from living creatures?

•Ghost Level 1: Remote Presence. This Special Skill is possessed by Remotes and unmanned T.A.G.s. Remotes have pseudo-AIs and expert programs that rule their behaviour in combat, operating in pure logic where fear has no place. In the case of Remote Presence T.A.G.s, the driver is not physically present on the battlefield and remotely controls it from a safe distance. Remote Presence is considered confers the Valor: Courage Special Skill. Figures with Remote Presence cannot have a Cube.

There is also a more advanced version that some of the CA TAGs use (including the Avatar), called 'Ghost Level X: Mnemonica'. It's controlled by the advanced EI of the Combined Army, and can jump between units of the CA army.
