Nice!

REALLY liking the Merovingian Starter and the Gwailos w/ Spitfire.

I've no idea who/what the Druze Shock Team is, and given that Mercenaries aren't allowed in Tournaments (Right?) I'm not sure if I'd buy them - but they are really nice looking miniatures!

I just noticed something really nice about the Druze Shock Team...

They have the exact same Combi Rifle as ALEPH models.

I think I just found my Posthumans.

There is an exception, mercenaries that are part of a sectorial's regular allotment are allowed in tournament use by that sectorial. I believe there is a haqqislam sectorial that uses them and yuan yuan as standard troops. either way the minis look great.

Also, loving the new Sun Tze. The old one was a little meh, the 2.0 will be a mainstay in my YuJing force.

Qapu Khalqi is the sectorial you referred to. Few days ago I pasted some rumours saying that this sectorial would see a cople of boxes this year. Maybe this guys are the first ones, after all they can be linked in the Qapu Khalqi sectorial.

A Druze dude is equipped with Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower. In the Infinity Army webapp it's a Light Grenade Launcher.

:S

Edit:

I think they just wrote it wrong in this pic, the weapon looks a grenade launcher rather than a flamethrower.

Eh last time we assumed this the Jotum got changed to a HFT from a HGL. I'm all for the Druze changing to a LFT though because LGL + XVisor is pretty disgusting.

I think you have CB on the phone or somethin', seems like they heard you.

Look at the name of the weapon, they've changed it.

I'm actually saddened about the Merovingian pack:
http://i.imgur.com/dcmWh.jpg

It comes with male-with-hair Metro, but doesn't come with the DEP-Metro that he was originally packaged with.
http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/2011/miniatures/metros/

If you want the DEP-Metro, you'll get another male-with-hair Metro.

It's to be excepted, they have done this with a few of the sectionals so far.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

That happens with a lot of starters. Basic troopers being available in blisters of two, and one of them not being included in the starter.

Spoiler:

- The pinup Caledonian Volunteer is not included in the Caledonian starter.
- 'John Locke' is not included in the Acontecimento starter.
- Celestial Guards from the Imperial Service sectorial are weird, some of them only in blister, some of them only in the starter.
- Keisotsu Butai with CR+Light GL is not included in the Japanese Sectorial Army starter.
- 'Lollipop' Moderator from Bakunin is not included in the starter.
- One of the Seed Soldiers is not included in the Shasvastii starter.

It's not great, but it's not as bad as having WFB infantry units with 12 and 16 miniatures per box.

That's not the case.
Muyibs' sculptor is Carlos Torres. Druze were done by... surprise, surprise... Pedro Fernandez. The guy responsible for an important part of the Merovingian line (Metros, Zouaves, Loup Garous) and a few Caledonian works: Cateran, William Wallace, SAS chain rifle and Cameronian, as well as generic Ariadna 112. As it can be seen this guy's style is more focused towards historic, given the level of detail shown in his sculpts and the trend for contemporanian style troops (Ariadna is not very Sci Fi). However he had done the Nomad's Bakunin UberFall Kommando and now he does these Sci Fi merc troops, the Druze Shock Team.

Wow.. I think this is the first time I will be buying 2 box-sets in a month! The Morovingians are just stunning, and the Druze guys (I had no idea who they were before!) are definitely going to be a purchase.

With a bit more yellowy helmets think they look kind of like the mercenary guys from that old game 'Haze'

Or they're just the right shape for my Garrus Vakarian conversion! Hmmm... those models look good.

I hear a lot of murmers about the Merovingians, a lot of people dig the models.

I've even been thinking about picking them up... should be a lot of fun to do a quick dropping, mobile force.

And the Loup Garous are great models too.

This weekend shall be expensive.

Those Druze are amazing.

I'm not sure about Sun Tze v.2 though. He looks like he's encroaching on the Warhammer aesthetic, which I'm increasingly repulsed by. I could deal with the large shoulder pads, the huge, spiky doo-dads on the back, or the comically-oversized gun raised into the air as if it had no weight, but the combination of the three is a big ole' DO NOT WANT from me.

I can kind of understand why they designed him that way. After all, isn't Sun Tze in Infinity supposed to be an android constructed by Aleph to be more of a morale/societal influence than an actual fighter? So in that light it kind of makes sense that the armor is essentially an elaborate eye-catching device to frame an un-armoured head. But I hope we don't see that trend continue in other Infinity releases.

Yes that's right, he is meant to be constructed to be an avatar of the real Sun Tze, and I guess the closest thing Infinity has to a 'character' model.
You're right though, generally they are not that kind of OTT style (although in this case I think it's a great sculpt!)

Those are incredible. While I realize they're Mercenaries and thus will cause consternation amongst others, they make a cool mercenary element for a Qapu Khalqi force.

While I'm buying the books now that I have my 200pt Haqq list, those Druze and a Hafza for the link team will be my first purchase post-rulebooks.
