Subject: Graven's Bloggit: Hondo Ohnaka and Weequay pirates (Shatterpoint), more ork nonsense
Olthannon wrote:Quietly amazed at the knowledge that a beer mat isn't a universal phrase!
Space pirates are very cool minis, great work painting them up.
Looking forward to you painting up those lovely metal orkses.
Who knew? Clearly, coaster is a broader term abroad Thanks mate, and yeah, the other RTB2s should be jolly.

I might be able to help you with that last one...
Well... relatively clean, anyway. These ones have not stripped quite as well as the last lot. Currently got the classic eldar in the chemicals.
However, in the mean time, done some more modern orks
A load of bullorks. I decided to mod a couple of these guys up as they often start with random injuries. So we have a sombrerork... And a boy with a mighty choppa. Plus a regular boy, albeit a big one. Why on earth am I voluntarily doing checks?! I also decided to have a much more varied colour scheme for these guys and I'm glad I did.
Plus, I made a grot with a grabba ! A gnoblar, with the stick carved down and a claw attached.
On another note entirely, some old resin terrain (again, via Gitsplitta). Now, i have to spoiler this as me old chum metropolis games checks out my blog from time to time, and these are for his birthday in a couple of weeks... so, bugger off!
Spoiler:
When I saw this terrain its 70s retro sci-fi vibe immediately screamed Space 1999 to me. Moonbase alpha, in all its black and beige glory. I'm particularly happy with the purple planet screen.
Yup, that was fun.
Next up? Well ridiculous ork/grot scrap tanks but I'm not sure I'm in a vehicle painting place right now. Maybe more oldhammer orks.
Graven

Those pics don't do your paintwork on the terrain justice my friend. They look fantastic! BTW, I think it's some kind of ceramic... not resin.
I think Kromlech did sombrero heads for orks. I know I have an ork biker with one for sure.
While "beer mat" is a perfectly good term... it's just something I've never heard here in the 'states. Come to think of it, coaster is about the only word I recall hearing for that particular item, at least in the parts of the US that I'm familiar with.
