It's what we call "Winter" up here.

It just means that your ancestors were smarter than mine and settled somewhere with tolerable weather.

I don't know. The way things are going, the northern US may come to have the milder weather, and the southern US might turn into swamps and desert.

LOL... i think nadgers is a british term... i only know it because my favorite author (terry pratchett) uses this word quite often...

and yep... these bitz might fall/come off due to unfriendly weather^^...this is my top most reason for staying indoors by the way... that argument is totally invalid as my wife makes me go outside even tho...

on a lighter note...

finished in a painting frenzy both, the blaster and the lightsaber... i was quite tense while doing so... fist...i didn´t want to screw the job... so i had to be careful... second... my kids where continiously looking over my shoulder... painting with audience... not my favorite pasttime , and third... i was anxious to see the balster and lightsaber come to a new cool look... the primed versions of both were enough to send shivers down my spine!!! because of my over anxiousness... i forgott to do primed pics... may the lords of painting forgive my humble soul...

but here are the pics of the painted pieces... still a bit wet... afterwards they look way better...now they are drying from varnishing in the cellar again... i am thinking i have to make both way more secure... i still have some furniture varnish at home... should i cover everything with that too...or a layer of PVA maybe? the kids will want to play with the armory... that´s for sure... in my mind i´ve already kissed both pieces good bye... but what could i do to preserve the toys for as long as possible??? help would be greatly apreciated!

many thanks, and in fact... this was a very quick work... i think using a toygun as a base has sped up the process quite a bit...

yes, specially the sabre has a strong steampunk vibe...

i have a waterpistol that would look quite decent as a raygun for a steampunk theme without too many conversion work... i think this could be a quick and easy project...

my wife did that already... she also redid a blue pair of trousers and added a red stripe... he looks so damn cool already... next big step is to make a fitting holster and he is set...

atm my wife is working on the black jedi robes of luke from return of the jedi...

Those are seriously cool looking. I had a Han Solo blaster when I was a kid. Best toy I ever had.

and worth a fortune nowadays...

if i hadn´t been that failing in planning i´d ordered a toy from britain...they sell it for around 20 pounds P&P... but that would have never arrived in time...

and it gave me an excuse to convert the hell outa a cheapo toy^^
