I was looking for Arbites/Enforcer on cmon and must say it's really thin. So few good miniatures. Anyway found this interesting:

The Imperium has long outlawed all 100% cybernetic things. I don't see the problem with the head that you guys do, except maybe for the blue paintjob...

Agreed. The only thing I'm not fond of is the bend in the forelegs. I realize the maker is going for a bulldog-type inward look... the head just doesn't flow with it... and the paintjob is... interesting, but not quite how I'd imagine a cybermastiff to be... so pretty!

Argh, my weakness... Nah, seriously, not too soon. Past few days have been busy and the next few will be worse. That is to say tomorrow I'll make last preparations and then I'll be on a business trip until easter monday. So don't expect anything before next week. Even if I manage to squeeze a little sculpting time into my schedule, it will not be enough to finish the essentials on Hope (feels like I haven't even started), so no pictures.

This is my fav. cyber mastiff out there (the model that is not this paint-job)...the Inq Enforcer Barbaretta one. Its just right IMO, shame its a bit too large to use for 28mm (I have seen it used but its still too big really!) and I don't like working with metal stuff.

Talking about cyber dogs, yes the Barbaretta one is fine, I have a couple of them, but they are in fact way to big. The one that was released with the 2001 fanatic enforcers was sadly just a bad copy.

Mind you that Hope is not supposed to be a cyber dog, like the ones we commonly know from 40k fluff. Hope is actually a xenos specimen, that happens to be quadruped and has a remotely similar frame. This alien was then being augmented, trained and conditioned to form a mental bond with it's handler, Samarianne. Hope is not an instinct driven simple creature or an almost robotic slave, it's an intelligent life form, that outsmarts many a human and has been equipped with implants that increase it's performance as a hunter-killer.

@LDD: Constant updates wouldn't be a problem, it's rare that I don't progress on one of my projects for a considerable time span, but I wouldn't like the result of posting everything. I'm trying to keep some structure to my posts (while my inspiration actually takes me here and there) and not to post WIPs of every project I'm working on. I'm sure people would enjoy the pics for the moment, but it would become really hard to follow the creation of a single project if twenty others got mixed in at some point. Remember my diving suit guy? The archivist? The rambling about Götz and the lionhearts etc.? No? Because it's too many things getting mixed up. All these projects are already WIP and many close to completion, but it will take a while before they are really worth showing, otherwise people would lose the interest in the myriads of unfinished projects. Actually it's hard enough to keep the overview myself. On the bright side of it, there is crazy stuff in the making for years to come, even if GW would stop releasing new adorable kits every few weeks.

First total sense on the WIP pics , although I was only kidding I seem to be giving everyone the wrong impression today, I say something and its taken the wrong way

However glad to hear those projects are on the move, but I would love to see the update on the diving guy if at all possible Just i want to see how those termi legs worked out

As for the FW open day model I got one it's a pretty nice model and the back of the dog has got some cool detail showing open scar and the augmented spine great piece.

Actually I managed to get 2 the misses was in the cue so I sent her to buy one and I got one …… I can see great conversion potential for this plus the dog is to dam good not to use with my HQ

I also got the Skin wolf mini, but had to order it as they only had about 40ish of them on the day so still waiting for that

I was hoping for a sneak peek of the diver, that has got me really interested that one

My GF just booked us for Games Day Chicago (hotel right across the street this year Woot!) So I'll be picking up two of those! Compared to the blue dire wolf head, the resin Mastiff definately looks more realistic.

The dire wolf head looks a lot like the WoW wolf head, but I guess that is the only plastic dog-ish head we've had before now.

Baiyuan, last year the GD mini (skaven) WAS a forge World resin fig. (got two of those too!)

I'd imagine it will be FW resin this year too, although the White Dwarf subscription fig this year is finecast.

Alright peeps, a quick update before I'm signing out till monday.
Like I've predicted I had practically no time/energy for the hobby the last two days, my mind has been occupied with the many aspects of our business trip that I had to think through and write down. So what little free time I had I preferred to spend on mindless activities like playing ME3 in multiplayer. So my N7 rating is around 300 now. (not that it would be anything to be proud of)
Anyway I had hoped to use some discipline and start sculpting Hope's head tonight, but got sucked in by ME3 again. Luckily the game crashed in one of the final rounds and that pissed me off enough to rage-quit the game and get sculpting.
Result: The foundation of the metal jaws and skullplate is done, the hinges powering the jaw are attached and I can start adding more details when I'm back. The whole thing might have turned out a little too organic looking, like an actual skull, but I'll worry about it/take care of it when I'm back.
