I've held off on buying Hac Tao mainly because they're a huge point sink in any list. I think they'll be much more useful than just an invisible missile turret in N3.
I'm glad I've held off. This is a great opportunity to unify the look of them because the 3 models now are all over the place in style.

AG is advertising his nominated miniatures for the Beasts of War annual awards, not surprised to see the Kum riders and Yojimbo among those short-listed

With Penthesilea nominated/winning a bunch of stuff last year and both the Kum and Yojimbo being nominated for a bunch of stuff this year, I'd imagine CB will produce more motorcyclists in the future.

Here's hoping we have Aleph Amazons versus Japanese Aragotos versus an entire sectorial of Khanate bikers. Can't get enough motorcycles.

I would be pretty excited to see an expanded Amazon faction option for Aleph. At least a more mobile, motorized rapid response type set of troops.

I still want to believe CA will have a hover type a la banshee/mono seat hover from Halo. That would be something to see.

Like the idea, but can we find a little space for dirty Nomads as well?

Maybe they bought up all the monocycles that the Kum riders dumped.

Or let's keep motorcycles where they already are: Haqqislam and Yu Jing.

It's bad enough that both the Russian Sectorial and USAriadna are getting Haqqislam styled bikes jammed in there.

Huh? That's news to me...

Pure speculation at this point. We have no idea what new units will be in either new Ariadna sectorials.

I thought there was a pretty long-running rumor of a bike- or quad-mounted unit in USAriadna.

All these bikes mean we should be producing some motorcycle-specific scenarios.

I've got one in the works, but it will have to wait until both the holidays and my insane end-of-year work deadlines are done. In January, I vow that I will finish it!

It's not a rumor.

We have the name for the USAriadna unit. They're bikers and they're called "Mavericks". They're supposed to use the same motorcycles as the new Haqqislam bikers.
They're also supposed to be a Warband, IIRC.

We know that USAriadna is getting the "Mavericks" in the form of the bikers and the "Grunts" as the new line troopers for the Sectorial.

We also know that Spetsnaz were developed for the Russian Sectorial but released early.

Iirc the most recent rumour is USAriadna getting quad bikes, not choppers, which makes more sense given the terrain they fight in.

The USAriadna getting quad bikes was seemingly more wishlisting, as I've only seen it in that context.

The Mavericks bit came out post-Paradiso, when USAriadna was announced.

Given how good the face is on Yojimbo, I would be 0% surprised if the "Mavericks" included a dead ringer for a certain Scientologist actor...

CB are continuing to sell those two Acontecimento miniatures (that look like they may be 'lost') so perhaps they will?

Remember also that there are tons of bikes on the roads in Spain, and motorbike racing is massive there. I think also one of the sculptors is a big fan, not only due to some small elements of the Penthouse miniature herself, but check out the similarities in some of the design ideas between her bike and this Kawasaki concept bike



So I wouldn't be at all surprised to see more bikes in future, even new profiles that we haven't seen yet now that the sculptors have got a handle on it.

but when does N3 books start appearing?

Is it this month or January?

Sorry but I dont see anything bad in awesome models being made for other factions, and maybe Im not CB inside man like you are but I quite sure they dont go easy and just copy Hq bikes for Ariadna or any other fations.

The official release date was the 8th December (that was meant to be CB's own release date).

However there have been reports that there was a delay at the printers, it should now be with distributors on the 15th, with retailers on or before the 19th.

Think if you're ordering from central Europe direct from CB or courier delivery from a retailer you might get it, otherwise its going to be after Xmas.

Choppers makes less sense there than riding across sand, not that they make any sense riding across sand, that is..

Aside from the fact that I would struggle to think of better nominations, don't pretty much every other miniature company advertise on BoW?

to be fair the nominations were based on what the BoW audience (and anybody else who decided to vote as it was not a 'closed' process) voted for,

and includes companies that don't have a 'special relationship' or even advertise on BoW as well

None of that is what I was trying to say, Loki.

Simply put: The mention that was done of the Mavericks most recently was that they were going to have the Kum bikes. Not because of CB being "their usual lazy selves", but rather they brought up the whole aspect of Ariadna having "no industrial production capabilities"(never mind that they keep four entire nations on a constant war footing...) so instead they get their bikes from Haqqislam. I believe this was GenCon of this year.

I've seen nothing about the quad bikes beyond some wishlisting or "wouldn't it be cooler" discussion over on the official forums. It would be cooler if they ended up with quad bikes or trail bikes, but they seem to be pretty insistent of late about sticking to the whole "Ariadna can't mass produce anything bigger than guns" spiel.

About the bikes for USAriadna and the Kazak sectorials, Bostria himself said both of them are going to happen. I didn't remember the name (Mavericks) until Kan said. I don't recall having read or heard anything about the model of the bikes, however. I'd rather have normal bikes. Motocross bikes.

I know the Mavericks have been talked about multiple times in the last few years, but when/where were Kazak bikers mentioned?

I want to say GenCon last year. It was around the same time they started specifically calling the book "Acheron Falls".

Yeah, I remember something about USAriadna bikers being II (Impetuous Irregular) and Kazak bikers being regular and not impetuous, which would be a interesting thing to see, and would give some sense to the "neither Imps nor bikes get cover" (that makes no sense as of right now because all bikes are impetuous).
