IKEA furniture is certainly a crime against sanity.

Part of my job as a returning son this Christmas was building a table for my mom. She'd "started it" by which I mean put together half the parts backwards and given up.

mmph, devastatingly designed i say, best is when you have those customisable ones with plans for that specific part but god forbid a competent plan.

It's comparativly non bulky actually. The contemptor is far more for it's size imo.

Anyways, onwards to my favourite unit in 30k, the proteus. Preciscly 2 of em, to transport all my terminators.

Also, half a HSS lascannon squad with transport capacity is awesome.
Anyways 2 more of em.

Anyways, nothing built but i did plan freehands for a bit.

Finished procrastinating, built my rhinos.
Unbuilt model status: 0. To paint. 20 seekers, 30 veterans, 10 lernaen, 1 Praetor, 1 oddly smoll perturabo. 2 Rhinos, 2 Proteus.

So, i had to wait for my layer to set on the hordes of not iron warriors. I decided to do a freehand in the style of an Hoplon with symbols on...

For the first attempt i dare say ok-ish?



From further away it looks better, but i have to touch up some parts again i think. Also should i do a black stripe around the brass on the outside?

Anyways got 2 days of long work infront of me so earliest update wednesday.






Started the core colour and did some scales on the deredeos.

Did some more Work on my AL:

Alpharius:



Progress on the seekers, basically next step here, turning them Akhelian:


And finally, did some more work on my deredeos:

More progress, brighter metal to undercoat the akhelian, black what needs to be black.
Still got no idea for the cape of my Praetor and Alpharius.

The sigil came out far better than 'okay-ish'- that's terrific!

And diggin' that metallic blue also- I did some Knights of Celedon (RAMF figures, I think?) in a similar shade but with a lesser quality paint. That metallic is good on the figures, but awesome on the vehicle.

Oh there will be some more vehicular goodness afterall my favourite unit is the Landraider Proteus. But first, i want to hand more specific AL units to your eyes.
30 Veterans with Banestrike bolters and fancy hoplite helmet crests.

And 20 Seekers in MK 6 which i am currently also painting.

Seeking pain it seems. The special helmets are horrendous but look fancy. Anyways, only thing left to do, shading there.

AMAZING progress NotOnline!!! The fancy Legionnaires are super cool. Bob and his mate are really packing some firepower. Loving the black legs that some of them got as well. Can’t wait for Alpharius to join them

Are you sure Alpharius hasn't joined them already without us noticing?

Did strength training today, so not much happening on the painting front. Except i did paint a helmet.

Yeeeah buddy, marines are looking great. The orange crests were the perfect choice against the blue armour. Nice freehand work with the helmet, doubly impressive if you were dealing with DOMS from the work out!

Here, a helmet, another hoplon and some scales on a rhino.

Finished the tanks, On to the praetor, lernas and Alpharius.
