Sorry about the delay, had a bit on a situation with the ebay seller- ended up waiting for my Dwarves to arrive 2 weeks after they were supposed to be sent :( but they have arrived, finally! And aren't they lovely



I've started on the base blue for my Rhino and done a little work on one of my veterans and the Librarian from the DV box.

The Dwarves are gonna take up all my time now I can tell lol xxx

Yep just got the dwarves Can't afford the Goblin Town boxset and I wouldn't want all those goblins anyway as I just wanna paint these guys for fun not to play with xxx

OOoo looking foward to seeing you paint them hairy men bubbs, wish I could have gotten just them (as I bought the box for them) but I love LotR too much to not buy the whole thing.. And I had just seen those FW models, they look fantastic not sure which one I want more though... its a good thing I live in the US the hassle of getting FW is the only thing stopping me from buying everything

I have a librarian update! (Finally )

Now I reckon most of you won't like the cape... but J-Paint and I think it looks pretty cool? Thoughts please? Obviously he's not finished yet but I've made a lot of progress today.



Oh and I've started on Balin... they dwarf figures are so tiny I'm trying to be really careful!!!

I actually love the cape! you should do all your cloth like that, only problem is.... then it makes me think the armor is too clean so scratch that blue paint up and you've got one fine looking marine!

compared to the seal the cape is rather dirty looking... if you change the whole marine look to match the cape... then you have a consistent look...if you ask me... for itself it looks quite nice i think... and personaly... no need to be that modest right up front...

I think the cape is actually really good, its a nice contrast to the clean blue.

I really like your stuff, well done! I don't see what's not to like about the cape though, I think it looks pretty good.

Garvi is all wrong in the face and hair regions but I still want it so bad! £55 though xxx

The cape looks pretty cool as for it looking to old and dirty against the armour aint no issue, I look at it being like a relic hence the age and dirt as for his armour that would be updated and maintained so would look better in condition.

I agree with LDD, that cape is looking nice and weathered from being passed down over the centuries.Heck, maybe make some gouges in the armor and silver 'em?

^ pretty much this ^. It looks really nice, but doesn't quite fit with the shiny, clean armour

I like the smurphtastic sky blue nail polish.
You'll have to darken it a bit to match the Ultras though... Maybe some smoke stains and silvery chipping? Inverted omega sign on each nail?

And thank you all for your comments on the armour (Shasolenzabi, shrike...) but I'm gonna side with LDD on this one A cape obviously being cloth (or something similar) is gonna get dirty and stay dirty, whereas armour is gonna be touched up and repaired prior to battle... So I'm going with the ancient special cape idea! Is this the lazy way out? Maybe but I do agree that chipped armour would be cool and I'm thinking I might do that for some of my vets?

Lol I swear this isn't the first time my nails have been discussed on here... I did paint ULTRA onto them once

And the librarian is finished! The final wash is still a bit wet in some parts as you might be able to see... ooops! Ignore that lol xxx

oh....f..k! that´s what i thought at first... the cloth looks rad!

if i could add just one tiny bit... the powerpack could do with some more love... or have you planned on weathering that guy some more? some scratches and stuff?

and again... the front looks awesome!

Turned out looking pretty good IMHO even better from the front view and the sword looks great as well, the pack does need a little something just to lift it though just to match with the rest.

Overall great job now you any good with plumbing

He's looking very impressive bubble, the sword is very nice.

The first member of the company is finished! I started with Balin as he's one of the more (relatively) simple models to paint. Thoughts please? First time using static grass...

That Libby is looking great, I love the old worn relic of a cloak. Balin is also top notch and the photo op is brilliant! It not only gives a sense of scale on those tiny Hobbit minis but its funny too

You didn't paint that come on who did it that has turned out bloody marvellous great brush work.

You are coming on in leaps and bounds here girl although I think the Librarian is about to get a can of whoop ass open on him

I DID! But you forget I have 24/7 access to the master painter that is J-paint haha. Gave me many many pointers on how to do the face The rest of it was really very simple, hence why I chose to do him first

and the grass was his idea I don't want to paint any more dwarves they're bloody fiddly!! lol I'm dreading painting Kili especially, that one has so many tiny details xxx

OK I believe you but the face does look spot on even the eyes I like the rosy area around the nose and the hairline highlight just brilliant

I'm glad you like the rosiness around the nose- that was a J-Paint tip... I actually didn't want to do it at first cuz I thought it would make Balin look like he had a sunburnt nose haha more fool me, I have much to learn!!!

The rosiness was a tiny bit of red gore mixed in with the flesh tone xxx
