hi everyone...the thane is now finished w/ three different options for his base...next up, the harbinger of menoth...i'm still experimentin' w/ my photography, so i may do a wip on her since i need to try out some different camera settings...

I like the first one. Looks too precarious on the stone, or the shield. Maybe put him infront of a runestone?

cheers for commentin' infantryman...all i can say is the customer gets what the customer wants...these shieldbearers are meant to have a more dynamic mini on top...the king alric special character, who is swingin' his axe...the stone would be bigger, if it was not meant to rank up in a unit for games...the main focus is of course the thane, who leads the customer's army...so long as he looks awesome, everything else is secondary...

Photography wise: continue to do whatever you did with the third pic. That is excellent miniature photography there and makes good use of diffuse lighting and spot lighting (though I would try to back off on the spot a bit).

As to the figure, I presume it's the same fig pinned in place (w/o glue) on three seperate bases? The first base is the best despite being the least detailed. It just fits better and melds into the thing, while on the others it looks out of place, precariously balanced (as Infantryman says) and that doesn't jive for a figure with such a heavy feeling pose. Agreed. There?s pretty much nothing you can do to solve the problem with the shield, but if it were me I?d make a new oathstone, with a flatter or even slightly concave top so that he looks like he?s firmly planted on it.
