I think I may have found something more difficult to put together than the old metal Thunderfire Cannon. The tracks on an Emhar kit of a British MkIV Tank. Just getting one set on was a pain, still got another set to do. Oh and a second full kit too. Oh well should be worth it in the long run as they'll be turned in to a pair of Malcadors.Still not settled on which variants but I'm thinking a regular one and an annihilator, which means I'll probably buy 2 more kits at some point to turn into a defender and an infernus.

Once I've added the super structure required for the limited arc turret it should be pretty close to the size of the forgeworld models which are actually surprisingly small (basically a streched Russ). I will admit though I'm not looking forward to doing the sponsons they are going to be tricky to get right.

Sounds impressive though. You'll have an Apocalypse force in no time with those big buggers!

My Razorwing jetfighter turned up about an hour after the 6th ed book. Had a skim read and like it so far.
My razorwing is well on the way to being assembled.

They're not actually that big, same width (or as near as makes no difference) as a Leman Russ, a little bit taller and about an extra third longer. Plus for a super heavy the points cost is minimal, 320pts for a regular one and 335 for an annihilator both upgraded. Then again they are just Leman Russes with worse armour and 2 structure points.

Yes stormwell good game, it was my gorgon light warjacks ability to lock you in combat with him, can using your feat you break free the combat locked in?

I managed to find it in the end, heres what the PP forums say.

Force Lock states "cannot advance". You do an advance if you are affected by Magnus Feat, but you can't. The Force Lock prevents the advancement from Magnus Feat.

@ Shredder

Thanks for the game enjoyed it, liked what we did with the scenary felt like we fighting in a street. Pity we didn't get another couple of turns in although even if you tied that last objective I would have still had extra VP for first and the having a unit in your deployment zone. I think that setup favoured guard as we have som much long range fire power.

Hopefully i'll get better with the rules and that'll speed stuff up.

You know yesterdy we were comparing Guard Plasma to marine plasma, well today while writing 1000 point list for next week I managed to get 12 plasma guns and 2 plasma cannons in a list without trying was just writing lists themed around my different regiments.

HQ 5 (165)
Col Theodore Lynch (CCS)
4 Plasma
Chimera
Multilaser
Heavy Flamer

HQ 3 (70)
Primaris Fellkirk (Pirmaris Pysker)

Troop 7 (170)
Vets
3 Plasma
Chimera
Multilaser
Heavy Bolter

Troop 8 (170)
Vets
3 Plasma
Chimera
Multilaser
Heavy Bolter

Troop 9 (155)
Vets
3 Melta
Shotguns
Chimera
Multilaser
Heavy Flamer

Fast Attack 1 (150)
Bullies (2 armored sentinels)
2 Plasma Cannon

1st Jalvene "Source Guard"
Elite 1 (115)
Source Guard (Storm Troopers)
2 Plasma

Hell if you dropped the melta, Psyker and switched the stormies for vets you could get 16 plasma gun and 2 cannons

As I said: Menoth, the army of denial and flamethrowers. Lots and lots of flamethrowers.

Indeed, but there's not just flamethrowers, there's flaming swords, flaming maces and all sorts of other ways to set everything that's not you on fire.

Yeah, good game, a lot of my units did nothing as they never reached you before the end of the game.
I like the hull points system, make killing vehicles more manageable and since DE vehicles were easy to kill anyway, it doesn't make too much difference to me.
I'm thinking what my next purchase should be, another venom would be useful, or maybe something new like reaver jetbikes or scourges. Or I could just get another razorwing flock so I don't have to use necrons scarabs as proxies!
I'm wondering if I could still use the talos and other foot slogging units but get rid of the webway portal, lots of things to think about....

Sitting on the roof of my house with a shotgun, and a six pack of beers

I think the web way portal still has potential merit, you just need to be able to either deploy it in area terrain so you combat unit can take cover the turn they turn up or use it to deploy shooty units (is there a shooty version of the talos or a squad that can a high number of S6/7 weapons?). It also has the plus side that it's a terror weapon, you plop one down your opponent is going to have to worry about it (admittedly less than in 5th).

You can also use it defensivly, stick it on an objective and move everything forward then turn 2 or 3 a rubbish unit can claim it. Think about it in our game if you had chucked the portal next to the central objcective and advanced everything else you wouldn't have had units trying to hold while I shot at you and would have got in my face a lot quicker. It's suffered in this edition but I think it's just a matter of reworking it.

Yeah hull points arn't as bad as I thought they'd be, you notice the number of HP is equal to the number of basic weapons and 1 imobilised? It wasn't very often that I got repeatedly shaken in 5th stuff just tented to get wrecked.

Also Hammer and Anvil setup I think will fast become a guard favourite.

The flyer was good, I just got lucky my reserves turned up the perfect time, I have no doubt if it had lasted longer it would have torn a chunk out of my army.
