They did tease some spears so it would be cool if they teased an upgrade sprues for the Wardens/ Custodes and it allows you to make the variants such as the arbiters with the guns and the two different guns. They would need to then make the plastic jump troops, jet bikes, terminators, and dreadnoughts and the line would be complete. It wouldn't be bad if the line shared things like basic troops. The only thing you'd want to avoid is making them too cross compatible as it could cannibalize sales.

Very true. Guess we'll see!

I think it will be a complete re-do of the Custodes range (30k specific), rather than upgrade frames for the current dual-purpose kits. They seem pretty intent on moving away from different ranges sharing units, and there aren't that many kits they need to do

That would be funny if they went back to the original shirtless Custodes aesthetic.

Peak GW move - make Custodes models as part of 30K range, awkwardly port them into 40K, basically abandon the 30K faction, make new models for 30K range with new aesthetic.

Oh, did you say Custodes, I thought you said Ogres...

Not numerically, or in factors of effect on the actual HH as the other factions mentioned. But, they do have models. And they were more active during the HH than 40k. And the heart wants what the heart wants. So, obviously, their fans want their rules, and, presumably, plastic models.

Having picked up the Mechanicum book, and glanced through the Talons (not Custodes, for crying out loud) PDF, I'm honestly not sure what someone thinks the benefit of a book is from a rules perspective. It looks like it covers the same stuff as is in the Mechanicum book (though note that I'm away from that at present, so can't do a direct comparison). And it isn't like there is much in the way of background in the Mechanicum Liber (which I'm honestly a little annoyed by).

I can understand the desire to get a miniatures release, don't get me wrong, but claiming the PDF is garbage, and that only "minor" groupings deserve them? Nah, not buying that.

I won't mind some female Custodes, but I'd prefer an expanded Sisters of Silence range. And by 'expanded', I mean more than just a single dual-purpose kit and a character. Some Sisters on jetbikes, and a plastic Acquisitor would be a nice start.

A specific sculpt for a generic character for the SoS (or a dual-build with a new special character) would be good, too.

I've not read the HH novels - have they described any units for the SoS we've not seen, or have their abilities hidden them from the authors as well?

Don’t hold me to this as it’s been a bloody long time since I owned, let alone read the book.

But when Custards and SoS got the Black Book treatment*, there were further units detailed, which have never seen the model light of day.

It feels about time for one. And would be a fairly substantial reveal in itself.

Especially for Heresy.

So what do we know is still to come out? Angron Transfigured (& Lotara) is coming up to a year after preview now, Skitarii, there's the separate kits from the Siege Assault Battle Group and possibly the stuff from LI (Whirlwinds, Araknae weapon options, etc).

IIRC, a lot of the alternative SoS units were arm swaps that Forgeworld made. I've still got the blister packs lying around somewhere in my hobby room.

Hmm, that's exactly the same beasties that Militia can take and it's a list based on what random sci-fi critters GW sells for Necromunda, so I'd give it very low chances that the unit was ever intended to be developed with its own bespoke models. But hey, fingers crossed giant locust gets added in 4.0

There's not much SoS stuff in the novels we haven't seen on the table (iirc. mostly some aircraft that were mentioned in throwaway one-liners, like the Talion gunship and the Divider stealth-craft), but the sisters have some concepts with art lying around from the original Horus Heresy trading card game from way back in the day (it's where the beast handler teams come from, and the jetbikes as well iirc).

If 'a lot of' somehow equates to just the alternate pistol loadout for the Prosecutor Cadre...

Sisters of Silence never got models for the Oblivion Knight Centura, Excrutiatus Cadre, Oblivion Knight Cadre, Persuer Cadre, or any of the other weapon options available to Prosecutors, Vigilators, or Seekers.
