Just a bio of my character for you writing types at the behest of IRC~

Carsten Cairns "Brick" Riker is a 24 year old private in Alpha platoon. His nickname is Brick for a couple of reasons; he has very broad shoulders that give him a boxy, rectangular appearance (the flat top doesn't help) and, to most Catachans outside his squad, he has the personality and emotions of a brick. He prefers to stay quiet and does little to dispel the myth that he watched a Catachan sabretooth eviscerate a man because he's a psychopath (actually the guy provoked the cat...and it was too beautiful to kill)

Those in his squad know him a little differently. His closest friends are the outgoing Jenkins boys (they talk more than enough for him). You wouldn't know it by looking at him, but he loves nature. If he wasn't a soldier he'd study animals for a living. He knows about virtually every bit of flora and fauna on Catachan, and the most appealing part of being in the Guard is travelling to new worlds and examining new species.

Brick's appearance is the opposite of his quiet, studious personality. A big, square ox, he sports a dark brown flattop and a big catapillar mustache. He's heavily tattooed, most notably sporting an aquilla across his chest, the words "destroy everything" arched over his stomach, full sleeves depicting the Horus Heresy on one arm and the food chain of Catachan on the other (an insect being eaten by a rat, being eaten by a snake, being eaten by a bird...etc etc ending in a land shark the size of the one that took off Straken's arm), and across his knuckles is a tattoo that reads "True Grit". He rarely smiles and only speaks up when someone mis-identifies a species. Usually he just lets one of the Jenkinses brag for him (and they do plenty). He's rarely without a big wad of chew in his mouth.
