Been insanely busy of late, b/t RL, streaming, commission and so on. Finally managed to get proper photos of the finished Cypher and Cherubael taken. Still need tp process Cherubael but here's Cypher. Painted him up entirely on stream and then did a giveaway for him on the 1K followers celebration stream so he will soon be winging his way to Finland - as soon as I can get to the post office. Happy how he came out. Tried out a new black armour workup which am well happy with




And there he is. Will try and get Cherubael up in the next few days. Until then - hope you like how the Lord of the Fallen came out

Cloak is great! model is excellent! colour palette is limited and perfect!

Cypher looks great. Not so sure on Chun-Li, though...

Cherubael....the most delicious of creatures!! Finally got the photos done and here they are. There are a lot so individual shots are in the spoiler box. Hope you like him. I had such a joy painting him (and Gregor ) up. Tried out some new things with his skin tones and effect. Sooooooo crazy happy with him

That's a hard model to pull off, being mostly flesh and pretty monochromatic. Look great though, and even better with Ol' Greg next to him.

Cheers Whalemusic. Never painted that much skin before so had to come up with a few tricks. He's an absolute nightmare to photograph though with the pose he's in. Still..... think he came out well.

They look amazing Jan, those bases tie them together beautifully. The strapping on Cherub is a real standout feature to me, it has such depth in the browns, it's very realistic.

Brilliant job dude! but I really am impressed with the bases! they are awesome! they are a perfect match to the models and help convey the feel of them and what they are without being overpowering, very complimentary. :-)

Awesome work on Cherubael, mate. I have to echo Nerdy - the bases are sublime and add a lot to the atmosphere of the models.

Cypher is looking fantastic, but the pair of =][= models just steals the show. Great stuff!

Thanks so much everyone. They were a long paint but defintely worth every hour! @nerdfest and @Az - the bases are from MicroArtStudio - they do a crazy amount of differnt themed bases. The 'arcane' ones seemd to fit Eisenhorn and Cherubael perfectly to complement the duo. I've got different ones picked out for the rest of the Inq54 models I have and will be working on once I've got the commissions I'm working on now done. The two death cult assassins will be getting some nice mosiac bases, Quovandius the mutant and his 2 headed rat will be getting some scrapyard bases and so on. All from same company. Love their products

He`s looking ace Jan. Love that base especially, it`s hit the right level of gritty realism and aged wear and tear. This is gunna be another spectacular piece all put together.

Thx very much I_F - he's nearing completion now. Did a final dry fit and took a few (bad) photos. Just waiting to hear back from the client before final gluing and final touches. Did a bases tutorial on stream the other day too which turned out nicely

Oh, wow. That's just superb. The shading on the cape is fantastic.

cheers youwashock - just worked up from the mid(base) tone to the highlights and then went back in after to glaze in the shadows and darker tones. very very thinned down glazes

O.k? how do you do the bases like that? the algae looks phenomenal, brilliantly done work as usual!

cheers very much Nerdy i do all the metalwork first - 3 different metallics (warplock bronze- overbrush, ghenna's gold- stipple, runefang steel- drybrush) then wash with a nuln/agrax mix. then comes staining just using shades, washes and the like. rust next - doombull brown for dark rust, skrag brown in centrew spots for bright. the panel that is all chipped paint - two layers of MiG scratch effects chipping fluid. when totally dry - 2 thin layers of ushabti bones. wash with valejo streaking grime. scrub some of it off with clean wet briush. let totally dry then with water adn a hard bristle stippling brush reactivate the chipping fluid and scrub off some of the ushabti bone layer to show the metals underneath. fially go back in with streaking grime and increase the green much in the recesses. pick out some of the 'diamonds' in the grip plate with bright silver. basically thats it.

Oh boy that scythe handle is sexy. The whole model is sexy to be honest but man that handle came out stellar. Wish I coulda seen the tutorial you did, sadly it's been very difficult for me to catch more of your streams as they start at 1:00 AM here.

yea - I hear ya I_F - timezones are a pain. thats what i do the really early morning stream on sundays as its afternoon EST satuday at that time.
glad you like the handle on the scythe - was easy enoughto do - just needed a little thought beforehand of how i was gonna get what was in my head down on mini.
