As a Haqqislam collector (10 models in a box that I havent touched in 6 months DOES make me a collector, shut up) the Odalisques aren't really a facet of that faction that I find especially interesting. Their heads do look very Soda Pop.
I'm also not a fan of the perfectly straight KARATE CHOP hand/arm on the submachine gun Odalisque.
All the helmeted Nomads are sexy as hell, this Hellcat is no exception.

Late, but worthy. The Yu-Jing pack might be useful, but it's not specially spectacular. Now, the Hellcat and the Odalisques are perfect IMHO. The Dasyu is pretty good, even being another mini with a slightly weird pose. I don't do Nomads, so I won't buy the Hellcat. Maybe in the future I will, because it's awesome. But the Odalisques... yup, I'll take one box in the near future! Edit: also, the May releases... will we see them in a couple of weeks as always (the Dozer is already painted to be shown) or will we see them in June? Re-Edit: wait... Submachine Gun?? That, and that yellow Haris marker scream 'the new book is around the corner!' to me... On a first sight I thougt that the Haris marker could be a Haqqi-customized 'Link Leader' marker, but... what do I know?

I bet that the Haris marker allows the Odalisques to make a guardian fireteam around another model. Something like "Protect the VIP" style.

Gentlemen.. get your HARIS rule here under the rules section: http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/downloads/ Or for those who can't: FIRETEAM: HARIS LEVEL 1. This Special Skill allows composition of a Support Fireteam, but with a maximum of 3 figures. This Support Fireteam must consist of the owner of this Special Skill and a maximum of 2 troops belonging to the same unit of the owner (eg. An Odalisque possessing Fireteam: Haris L1 and 2 Odalisques). The formation, activity and reformation of this Fireteam uses the rules for Infinity Fireteams (See the book Infinity Human Sphere) with the following exceptions: • The Support Fireteam is in addition to the single Fireteam allowed for Sectorial Army List. • Only a single figure with this Level of the Haris Special Skill is allowed per Army List. This means there can only be 1 Support Fireteam created by a troop possessing this Special Skill Level in the army. • A Support Fireteam is identified by the Support Leader Marker which is the equivalent in this formation to the Linked Team Leader of a Fireteam. It is not compulsory that the Haris be the Support Leader of the Support Fireteam. • Troops belonging to different units are not allowed to be part of a Support Fireteam (eg. It is not allowed to create a Support Fireteam composed of an Odalisque possessing Fireteam: Haris L1, plus 1 Odalisque and 1 Hafza). The Haqqislamite army was the first to create and deploy minimum support and assistance units for their Fireteams. The Support Fireteams facilitate the manoeuvre of the main Fireteam, providing covering fire, or acting as a separate element to distract the enemy. The Haqqislamite Military Doctrine Command, whose tactical philosophy is based around the use of light units, promoted the development of these types of combat units, operating in conjunction with traditional Fireteams with exceptional results. In the Sectorial Armies that comprise the entire Sword of Allah, the NCO in charge of these support groups receives the name of Haris (guardian, protector). Seeing the evident success of the Support Fireteams, the other armies of the Sphere emulated the Haqqislamite forces, using the same tactical pattern, and keeping the term Haris for their respective NCO’s.

But it seems they will have to pay extra for those extra Fireteams.
The Odalisque with Haris L1 costs +1pt and +1SWC compared to other Odalisques.

1 SWC for another fireteam is not a bad deal. It's probably not too gamebreaking as its 1 unit, and an army with 2 potential fireteams can switch which one is linked quite easily. I do think that sectorials having access to fireteams makes them better than wider factions in a way flexibility and options don't entirely make up for. It would be great (my theory) if all factions could link their basic infantry, but only sectorials had other link options, for more interesting/elite troops.
Note: for fireteam, read link team!

This "Haris" also introduces Link Teams to vanilla factions.
Then again, the Odalisque is AVA:2 normally, so not yet.

I heartily agree with the above. In fact, allowing fireteams of basic troops in vanilla faction lists may become a house rule for my local league if I can talk the peeps into adopting some nonstandard rules

Disagree- I do think a second active fireteam would be gamebreaking whenever sectorials fight vanilla lists, sadly. One is potentially too powerful: 2 is way too much, and will overpower basic lists from generic factions pretty easily. Sure, you can always have two potential fireteams. But two fireteams acting in ARO? That's huge. Make your second fireteam reactive and give them 2 Multi-Snipers... ugh. Way too powerful, with no tradeoffs of cost or vulnerability.
Now if a second fireteam took -2- SWC and a few more points (5-10), sure. That might be balanced, as it would suck up your support capacity pretty fast.

I think it'll be perfectly balanced.
#1 take out the model with Haris and the team crumbles.
#2 Lvl 1 only gets 3 models, 3 model link teams are very easy to down
#3 based on the description harris is for Light Infantry, No Double Heavy Infantry Link teams
#4 1SWC means a lot. At 150pts taht is 1/3 of your SWC and at 300pts that means not fitting in that HMG.

Battlefoam and Corvus have teamed up again for another killer miniature release. This time it will be available as an early buy for those attending GenCon and will be available later in the year to the rest of the world. Here is BF's post....
Battlefoam wrote:Hello Gamers,
We are happy to announce a very special early release that will happen at GenCon in Indianapolis this summer.
The great guys at CB really want you to stop by and say hi. Take in a demo or check out their great display at the Battle Foam booth.
To really make it special they have designed a really amazing box set that will feature an awesome TAG with an additional Girl Model.
This will be a box set that will be available later in 2012 for everyone to purchase.
The box set will be a mercenary choice that will be very appealing.
Prices and details will be made available as we get closer to the con. Stay tuned on http://www.infinitythegame.com for more details or check out the Battle Foam twitter/facebook/youtube channels for more information.

We look forward to seeing everyone at GenCon with these amazing models.

Or CB is smart and uses them and MAS to pull in new player. Is CB even going to GenCon they don't make it over here for Cons becouse the cost, there still a small company. If thats the case it's free advertisement, why foot the bill if other will do it for you. CB unlike some other company is more then willing to use any way to increase the player base (this is a good thing), including letting the models be used to sell 3rd party non-model goods for there game. Just one more reason they get most of my game budget.

Actually, Corvus Belli will be in the booth with Battle Foam(R) at GenCon. Not only will a sweet miniature be available to people who attend, but they will be able to talk to game and model designers in person. It should be pretty damn awesome.

There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.
