Or CB is smart and uses them and MAS to pull in new player. Is CB even going to GenCon they don't make it over here for Cons becouse the cost, there still a small company. If thats the case it's free advertisement, why foot the bill if other will do it for you. CB unlike some other company is more then willing to use any way to increase the player base (this is a good thing), including letting the models be used to sell 3rd party non-model goods for there game. Just one more reason they get most of my game budget.

Actually, Corvus Belli will be in the booth with Battle Foam(R) at GenCon. Not only will a sweet miniature be available to people who attend, but they will be able to talk to game and model designers in person. It should be pretty damn awesome.

Now I'm really sad I can't make GenCon!

Is this Mech and Pilot already listed in the current rules?

I'd love to go to GenCon to meet the guys, however alas I can't justify the cost.

It would be nice if they made mercs able to function as their own standalone faction. But if they did, they'd have to stop making all their awesome models limited editions!

I'm glad there are other people in the world who think like me.

My first thought as I saw the pair was "When did Deunan dye her hair?"

I'm going to call this inspiration, rather than a shameless ripoff, because it's so cool.

Can't wait to see how they execute the concepts.

I don't see what bearing this has on anything. Trying to make an issue of whether or not Battlefoam payed anything as a sponsor to support Corvus Belli or engage in co-marketing is absolutely pointless and will only promote needless hostility. Corvus Belli obviously agreed to whatever arrangement was made, quite happily I would expect, and if they aren't complaining about the logo, what difference would it possibly make to you? It is a shame to inject this kind of thing in an otherwise pretty nice conversation IMHO...

Other people before you addressed this in a less hostile manner than you have. Pots and kettles.
My question was what relevance battlefoam has to this miniature. The answer is: none aside from sharing a booth. Done.

You know what, fair enough. Perhaps I read a tone into your message that was not intended, if so, I apologize. If not, my comment's point remains but you are correct none-the-less that it could have been worded with less hostility.

Now that that is settled lol -

I quite like the paintscheme on the concept art for the mechsuit... a nice mix of what I would normally consider too many colors, but somehow they balance out to me. I am also a fan of the Patlabor/Macross Plus look of the suit.

If I had to choose another line of minis to paint (and wasn't already hopelessly invested in 40k models that will take me years to finish), Infinity would without a doubt be my choice. I love their aesthetic, proportions and posing across many if not all of the factions.

Isn't is possible Battlefoam proposed the model, maybe even paid for it to be made, with condition that their name is put on any promotional material for it?

Would be a good way to get some publicity for both companies (people who haven't heard of Infinity but buy Battlefoam stuff will see it on the BF website and go look at Infinity, and Infinity players will be more exposed to Battlefoams Infinity bags), with Corvus Belli not being out production on a model that might not sell as well as they hope.

Yup that scarface tag art is amazing! Cordelia looks like the merc engineer I'm guessing?
Pity I'll have to wait till end of the year. Who am I kidding, it will take me that long at least to assemble and paint the infinity models I have!

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

TBH as long as the model is eventually available to purchase for everyone (and not an exclusive with the bag!) then I think everyone will be happy.

To be fair to Absolutionis, Battle Foam did cause a bit of a poo-storm last year with a comment by one of their guys. Essentially when asked about 'why would someone need such a big bag for just ten models?' he commented that Infinity might need it in the future. One of the ways of interpreting that comment was to think that maybe Infinity was planning to upscale the game beyond its current skirmish format. Well, there are a lot of hardcore guys on the official forum who seriously love this game, and the efforts CB have made to make it balance at that scale, so that comment did not go down well at all and there were some long threads and heated arguments about it. Although I think comments were made in an official capacity later to allay those fears.

So, I can kind of understand if there is some wariness surrounding Battlefoam, and perhaps there is always the fear that a model like this might be made an exclusive to bag purchasers (which would be the worst thing to happen).

I heartily agree with the above. In fact, allowing fireteams of basic troops in vanilla faction lists may become a house rule for my local league if I can talk the peeps into adopting some nonstandard rules

1 SWC for another fireteam is not a bad deal. It's probably not too gamebreaking as its 1 unit, and an army with 2 potential fireteams can switch which one is linked quite easily.

Disagree- I do think a second active fireteam would be gamebreaking whenever sectorials fight vanilla lists, sadly. One is potentially too powerful: 2 is way too much, and will overpower basic lists from generic factions pretty easily. Sure, you can always have two potential fireteams. But two fireteams acting in ARO? That's huge. Make your second fireteam reactive and give them 2 Multi-Snipers... ugh. Way too powerful, with no tradeoffs of cost or vulnerability.

Now if a second fireteam took -2- SWC and a few more points (5-10), sure. That might be balanced, as it would suck up your support capacity pretty fast.

Yeah, I have to write some 200 pt lists for an upcoming event, and I will almost certainly use corregidor over regular nomads - at that level it is practically necessary to take 3-5 line infantry (to reach a healthy number of orders). The difference between an army that can move and fight with all those (at greatly increased power) vs one where they more or less sit still while better models are activated, is enormous.

What I meant about the second link team is that a skilled player can (by using an army almost or entirely formed of two linkable types) switch which one is activated to use them to full effect, and then leave them with one linked unit holding defensive positions ahead of the non-linked models. Having both teams active permamently is more of a convenience boost than a flat power boost. THe important thing is that currently this 2-link system is only available to QK using odalisques. Hopefully it will not be spread around much, and we will see some further rulebooks which might alter the current link systems.

Eldar Corsairs: 4000 pts
Imperial Guard: 4000 pts

Corregidor 700 pts
Acontecimento 400 pts

A better response by Battlefoam would have been 'so you stop at 10 models?'

Because seriously, this game. I pointed out my 200pt force, which I planned on painting completely and playing a lot before expanding. I now have even more models, and I'm planning on starting Nomads, because, you know, this game.

It's just so easy to accidentally end up with a whole other army without realising it. An impulse buy here, a cool model there.

Regarding the large Battlefoam bag. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, yes it's a large bag, and if you really intend to buy 1 faction, and enough to play a 200pt game, then maybe it's over-kill. On the other hand, who really does that? These miniatures are AWESOME, and the temptation to buy more than one faction, and certainly to horde all those beautiful miniatures means the large bag is a legitimate storage solution. I'm not saying it's the ONLY storage solution, but Battlefoam is a business and they're there to persuade you to use their products over the competition....hence the limited edition figure.

To me, this all seems perfectly logical and reasonable.

Man down, Man down....

Huh?
I was NOT intending to make fun of you, mate. I was only laughting of the way I had written my statement

"TAG pilot piloting a TAG" , doesn't sound extremely redundan't?

Anyway, it is a piloted TAG. A TAG is a Gear, an exoarmor in the middle way between a personal armor and a vehicle (Tactical Armored Gear) . In 40k terms, similar to a heavy armored TAU battlesuit.

anyway, if I'm going for a TAG army what would be the best faction to take? I'm torn between PanO and Yu Jing.

According to what battlefoam said we all will be able to bit the mini later in the year.

It seems an early access rather than an exclusive release.

I'm still not sure if the Mk12s that the TAG has in his back would fit nice or just seem like they glued the guns to the miniature, but I like the concept.

I'll ask one more time, just in case anyone knows...

Where are the rules for Scarface and Cordelia?

Online?

In the upcoming expansion book?

TBD?

Apologies if this has already been answered...
