The problem is, unless you have a uber computer and fiber optic broadband you can only have 5 odd people without it lagging a ton.

I have one that not many people use anymore...just let me find the IP.

T'au Empire: ~2500 Points
Eldar: ~1500 Points
Chaos Marines: ~1000 Points
Orks: ~1500 Pts.

The (New)Dark Tally: [W/T/L]
Orks: 4/1/0
Chaos: 2/1/0
Eldar: 4/1/0
Tau: 3/1/0

ok i have slowly been toiling away on my massive cave terraforming project, basically im tired of getting lost so im just mining everything out in sections in each direction. each level is 5 or so blocks high. while this might sound like a bit much the cave system is so huge it really has not been much of an issue.

i am thinking of making a railway to go from my current mining project to my main base where i have tons of room for storage.

i have been trying to look for ideas on minecart trains and gether general info but i still have questions.

do minecarts break like a boat elevator eventually will?

can you use boosters to make a minecart train or will it shoot minecarts into oblivion? id hate to lose a pile of resources this way.

are stone pressure plates activated by storeage carts or powered carts?

im thinking ill have to build 2 railways, 1 would be the slow "freight" rail for my powered carts and the other would be an express rail for me to boost back and forth between bases.

Our best bet would be to have either a UK based or east coast USA based high quality server block to run a dakka server from but those are really expensive...

As I said a while back in this thread me and my mates are working on a server block for us to play on so UK dakkites could probably get a decent quality of play using that when its done.

*muttermutter* I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEEEETT wireless mouses... the connection always sucks, and the mouse has a lag to it that isn't there in a normal mouse >.<

Aside form it hindering my performance in FPS games, its inability to receive a consistent signal (from less than two feet away with no obstructing objects) just cost me a shelter to a creeper -.- if I had a regular, non-gakky (IE, not wireless, as all wireless mouses are gakky) mouse I'd have shut the door in time instead of being delayed by a precious second to let the creeper in.

They're only good for pranking people. If you have a wired and wireless in at the same time, both should work. Same goes for the keyboard. So ghosts and fun for a minute or two.

My wireless mouse has pinpoint precision and cost me about a tenner...

Me thinks you need to get better equipment before making sweeping judgements melissia.

Yes, better equipment.

IE, not wireless.

Wireless equipment has always failed in this house, no matter its quality. I have no intention of buying some gakky little overly expensive "high quality" wireless mouse just to have that one fail, too.

They haven't ever been for me. All attempted wireless connections in this household do poorly, mouses are no different.

How is your wired remote control working out for you?
Or your wired home phone?

But anyway, I spent yesterday making a giant tree (37*31*44) complete with hollow branches and 11 stories of internal flooring only to have the world corrupt when the server was on in a powercut .

It was horrible.

How is your wireless remote control working out for you?
Poorly. I have to get so close to change the signals even with new batteries that I might as well just push the buttons on the TV/VCR/DVD player.

And that's the brand new remote with a brand new (courtesy of housemates who were tired of the old one) VCR/DVD player. The other one doesn't work at all.
Or your wired home phone?
Quite well.

Mice refers to the biological organism (similar to the various definitions of "goose"). A computer mouse isn't that.

My wireless Xbox controllers work well, however, the few that have broke suffered... extreme abuse to say the least. Anyway, I play with a wired mouse, it does the job just fine, though the wireless mouse that I have is amazing, and is hyper sensitive and very responsive, but munches batteries...

ANYWAY, back on the subject of Minecraft, I found another wolf this morning after getting my weekly dose of Jesus, so now I have 2 little dogs who sit at my bedside. I also now have a pig spawner which is VERY useful for feeding them.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

... that was... weird.

I have a 1x72x2 hole with one side top to bottom with ladders, which I use to get to various levels of my mine. And... weirdly, while climbing up just now, I saw first a sheep drop down past me at blinding speed, and then a zombie do the same thing. both died at the bottom. Completely on accident O.o

Both forms are used really. It's mostly that I like to differentiate between the two.

I also managed to create a pig spawner (by getting grass next to a monster spawner), and now harvest pigs to feed by pets.

I just typed in DAKKA for the seed...

Where is this forest? I got a pillar of rock, and some floating islands, but no dense forest. Are you sure that's the seed, or was this generated pre-april first patch?

I don't have a pillar of rock, I have a few islands offshore, none of them floating... But, to be exact, the tower is 35 blocks tall, not the 40 I thought it was... I fail at subtraction. And this was pre-april first patch.

Again, what's your coordinates?

The world's always the same with the same seed, but you start at different coordinates, often quite a ways away.

I can run a very fast MC server from my computer, if I do it right. Fast FPS, min-zero lag, and all OP's.

And PvP nights. Because that's how I roll.

That might explain it, since worldgen was modified to some extent for the april fools joke. I haven't tested to see if other seeds give the same result they did before, though, so it may not have changed anything...

I dont think anybody is goin to force you to make a MC server, it would be nice however. The main problem is how many people can it support and how often will the server be up??

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar
