Well the Chaplain in Terminator Armour seems a nice idea. How about rather than a single model a diorama a last stand would be nice a hard pressed heroic mob of Orks fighting of the hordes of surrounding barbarian Marines or something like that!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I like how youve painted some of the armour on the Chapie in the color of your army i might do that myself =D

I was thinking maybe doing a terminator librarian in marble or off white armour for GD. I also thought about doing a really battered up LR being cleaned, painted and fixed up by a horde of servitors and a techmarine. What do you think?

I love what you have done here. Another painter that paints their SM to look like they work for a living. Love it all. Keep up the awesome work. The best SoO I have seen to date.

Now the Land Raider cleaning I like.......It just seems something utterly unique which I've never seen with 40K elements. its far more a diorama modeller thing which is good. Although I must admit you've now got "Working at the Carwash" stuck in my head!

Had a great 8 hour session today, so unsurprisingly I got a lot done. As you shall see in the pictures.

And here they are.

I don’t know about you but I am very pleased with the chaplain. I was relatively quick to paint and of a high enough standard for a local competition maybe.

The first 3 terminators finished. Well... 99% finished, I still have the purity seals to paint.

The army so far. I’m really looking forward to the arrival of the dreadnoughts!

Thanks for all your comments so far keep them coming!

I love it They look great as individuals , but arent over that top so they'll look even better united on the battlefield ( ment in a good way , I thought it sounded kinda 'your guys are so bad they only look good from 3 feet away on the field')

Your squad looks incredibly realistic - the bases pull it all together. The subdued, dusty paint scheme really looks good.

My photo background is just the inside cover of a large book I have at home.

I started assembling the second tactical squad today and finally got round to painting the last member of the first squad. I haven't got any pics today but there will be an update tomorrow or the day after with plenty of them

Well... after what seems lake absolutely ages the first tactical squad is 100% complete!

And here are some pictures

I had an idea today and I was wondering what you people think. I’m going to carry on the Sons of Orar scheme but mix it up a bit to give the models some more individuality. E.g. have some marines with red helmets shoulder pads etc. and paint other parts of them white like hands or feet or torso etc.

Good idea or bad idea?

For space marines I concider it a bad idea , unless its something along the lines of "captains have red helmets , but instead they have white knee pads/greaves ."

For an Ork Clan it would be a good idea hwoever , as they arent as organized as the marines are

Bad ideá, stick to white heads and shoulders. Or else they wont look like sons of orar. It's like any other chapter, you don't paint a white scars marine in any other colors than red and white as an example.

On the contrary, I think changing up the colors is a great idea, but you should do it in an organized fashion. Maybe reverse the color for veteran, assault, or devastator squads to make them stand out. This way it seems as if there is a reason for their different coloration, as opposed to making your army look unorganized.

Its your army, its your choice. I reckon that you're a painter more than a gamer, so do what looks cool in your eyes! But if you want to get into the fluff you could write a legend about Orar, how he touched the armour of his warriors who showed the most courage, and those parts of armour were painted white as a mark of respect.

So you can mix up your white shoulder pads, helmets, arms etc..

Keep up the awesome work!

[edit] ps. loving the purple plasma cannon and gun!!
