OOC: Not to reign on your parade, but tbh they're (the guardies 'n' whatnot) are just sorta doing their own thing. Anyway, Techmarine whatshisface was going to the capital to aid the rest of the defenders, along with wounded Zindler, as far as the posts are concerned. Only Vera, Arkus and the guardsmen peeps are anywhere near the southern city. I think we'll just let things play themselves out, and once someone rescues me (I've just realised that this whole situation is kinda embarressing for my character) we can just go fight 'Nids. Then again....
BIC:
Arkus leaped out of the wreck of the Rhino, and at the sight of his chapter's hated foes, the Chaos Space Marines, a terrible blood lust overcame him. He let out a blood curdling cry and charged at his foes, his chainsword slamming into one of the Plague Marines, slicing through it's head. He fired off a shot at another, but to no effect. The Red Scorpions tactical squad piled out of the Rhino, and opened fire. Arkus dived to the left, dodging out of his allies' fire. The squads plasmagun spoke, blowing away two traitors. One of the pustulant marines came up from behind Arkus and slammed into the back of his head with a bolter butt. Arkus realed forward and fell to one knee. He swung round, his chainsword grinding against the leg armour of his foe, but the ancient and corrupted power armour remained firm. The Chaos Marine kicked Arkus in the face, sending him sprawling. Arkus' foe raised a knife, about to deliver the killing blow, when his guts exploded outwards, and the marine fell to the floor. The Sergeant of the Tactical squad fired off a plasma shot from his pistol, blowing away another hated foe as Arkus scrambled to his feet, eager to rejoin the fight. He muttered his gratitude to the Sergeant, who acknowledged it with a quick glance. Returning the favour of life saving, Arkus fired off a pistol shot at a Nurgle marine behind the sergeant who had neglected to wear a helmet, his heat exploding in a gory mess of infected slime. Another Scorpions marine sprinted over to their position, blasting away with his bolter. "Sergeant, we've lost three of our number already! And Seregas can see an enemy Rhino heading to this position from the south!" The marine reported, bolter shots pinging off his armour.
"Finish up this warband, then we will request extraction to relay the information garnoured from this expedition to HQ." Replied the Sergeant, as his pistol smited the last of the foul traitors. They salvaged the communications equipment from the Rhino, and called for Thunderhawk extraction from Naruke Capital. They were answered by Techmarine Gavus, who was the senior and sole Techmarine still on the planet.
OOC: Just bringing you into it, Ghosty. Tbh, the southern city is a bit to complicated ATM for me :(.
Feel free to bring Zindy along in whatever dreadnought form you wish. I doubt any more marines can be spared from the defence of the capital.

Salen had gone straight for the Heretic force that had been reported to the south as soon as he had heard of the news.
++BROTHER TECHMARINE GET ME OUT OF THIS LOCATION AND TO NARUKE SOUTH IMMEDIATELY++
+-Extraction is in route Chaplain-+
Salen had arrived at the city of Naruke south as soon as he had heard, He had to be on this front to provide his brothers as well as any imperial guard units may as well, need protection of their souls.
FOUL HERETICS, Salen screamed as the charged the squad of Chaos marines on the fringe of the City. These Mutant Heretics feel not the blessing of the Emperor he yelled over the loud speakers of his helmet. He rammed his crozius into the chest of the Heretic left it there spun around the disgusting foul smelling worshiper of Nurgle, once a proud marine of the Death Guard, now this pathetic insult to the Astarte's name.
As he spun away from his holy weapon, he drew his bolt pistol and fired twice into the back of the marine as he dropped to his knees he spun back in front of the marine and kicked the handle of the holy weapon straight through the chest of the marine for the killing blow.
He looked around said a small prayer to the god emperor and prayed for his brothers souls. He had made a decision that the Blood Angel would be perfectly harmless in comparison to this threat. He decided that this infection required more resources than was available, he sent a message to the Red scorpions captain they would require at least another company or marines if they were to handle this threat with the possibility of keeping the planet secured. Even though he knew there would not any relief he felt it was required to do so as a leading officer of the Chapter.
OOC: that message to the Captain was soley for show i don't expect there to be any support given just saying, love the story so far though.

So, I was in this place people call the mall a while back. And I had the urge to expel some bad spirits. As I went into the bathroom, I chose the urinal closes to the corner so I could have some privacy. So I whip out Lord Pevincy and let him loose the bad spirits. Well, I was looking at the wall as the Lord was expelling the spirits and I seemed to have gotten distracted. Turns out, I missed a little.
SO I'm sitting at my computer right, and I have a Coke, Bottled mind you. But it got warm, so I got a Coffie cup and I filled it with the coke and some Ice and I sipped as I did my internet stuff. So like and hour passed and I hadn't sipped any of it. and when I go to sip it, I notice that something solid is in it. So I'm like, "No, why would there be something solid in my coke?" SO I pull these solid THINGS off my tongue and guess what they are? F ING ANTS! I was like WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent! So excellent that I'm not going to muck with it! Have fun with your plotline, and the next plot twist will probably be Eldar-related.

Arkus heard the deep bass rumbling in the sky long before he saw the thunder hawk. It screamed through the air, contrails of thick black smoke billowing behind it, its massed battery of weapons clearing the sky of flying tyranids. However, it seemed to bank up sharply, as a sudden spray of spore mines were launched into the air. A collection of large floating sacks with a multitude of tendrils flicking below them floated on the eddies of the wind above Arkus' position. Meitoic spore mines. The thunder hawk altered its course and encircled the stranded marines once, before flying off again
++ This is Sergeant Aurrellius, the area is too hot for an evacuation, but we will touch down somewhere safer than here, as close as we can, I shall send co-ordinates ASAP++
Arkus cursed, before relaying the information to the squad. As the squad fell back to their derelict rhino, they received another message.
++ Aurrellius again, we have some good news, and some considerably worse news. The closest 'safe' touch down point is twenty five miles east of your position, but in order to get to us, you must move through what seems to be a tyranid nest. Now heres the good news. We've got someone to come help you. He's ETA twenty seconds; if I were you I would clear that rhino. Aurrellius out++
Arkus took a moment to comprehend the sergeant’s cloak and dagger meaning. Then it hit him. Something was being dropped in.
"Marines! Get away from the rhino!" roared the blood angel. No sooner as they had done that, a massive teardrop shaped prism collided with the mud, clipping the rhino as it landed (causing it to flip through the air) and spraying brown slurry into the Red scorpion squad. The Drop pods great doors crashed open and something within stirred.
++Ironclad Zindler reporting for duty, I heard you needed someone to breach a nest for you++
A dreadnaught stepped out of the pod, its massive frame easily dwarfing even the blood angel’s impressive stature. Its two mechanical arms ended in fully articulated hands, an unusual trait amongst dreadnaughts, but it was the weapon it was wielding that drew the squads attention. A huge, 2hd, seismic sledgehammer, its surface crackling with power. Zindler hefted it onto his artificial shoulder, and turned his head too look in the direction of the nest.
++Blood angel, we should move out++

Arkus, Brother Zindler and the 7 remaining Scorpions began the long walk to the extraction point. After awhile, the mycetic spores began to drop down. Zindler smashed away a raging carnifex, while fire discipline from the Marines kept back the tide of smaller Tyranids. Arkus hacked away at a Hormogaunt that got too close, sending it flying. "Brothers! Only 7 miles to go. We must persevere!" Called Arkus.

Everyone remained still as the message of a new threat was relayed.
"I think its best if we just get the hell off of this planet before we get trapt here on this godfors--" Before Nikev could finish his sentence a distress beacon lit up.
"well doesn' this complicate things" Vera said calmly.
[{OOC} Vera I don't know. should we split up, go for an objective together, or just head to the evac point? Choice is urs man. but the easier you try to make it if you try then the more gak I'm putting in our way. remember that in your decision.

OOC: Teyh will nom it. 'Sides, the orbiting Scorpy ship is ka-boomed, I believe we decided that a page or so back. So there's a hive ship + extra gribblies up there. 'Sides, you escape - then wut? You'd be pretty much outta the RP. Also, Ima feeling much better now! Not 100%, but still. BIC: 2 hours. The marines had been fighting for 2 hours straight. They had their backs up against rock, and all ammo had been expended. Only Zindler, Arkus and 3 Marines remained, including sergeant Teleralius, whose pistol still spat death. A Tyranid Warrior leaped at him, a vicious claw ripping out a chuck of his shoulder pauldron, and the Sergeant span his powerfist around, smashing the beast's head off. He swung around again, his armoured gauntlet tearing through two Gaunts. Arkus lunged forward, his chainsword killing a Hormagaunt. Zindler thrashed left and right, killing a dozen Tyranids. Brother Macar held a writhing Gaunt around the throat, and thrusted his combat blade into it's alien brain, and the thing's movements ceased. Another leaped onto him, knocking him over. He punched it, breaking it's jaw, then kicked out sending it flying. Brother Kiras ripped the head off another gaunt, then grabbed it by it's tail, and swung it like a weapon at the other Tyranid's. Arkus lobbed a frag, which exploded, killing two of the Tyranids. Taking a moment to look around, he could see the end of the Tyranid assault wave - but there was still a Carnifex to deal with. Revered Brother Zindler stepped forward, and the Carnifex struck out with a sharp scything Talon, which pierced the casing of the Dreadnought. However, it missed the interned Space Marine. Zindler brought up his siesmic hammer, ripping the scything talon off at the mid-section of the arm. The beast shrieked in pain. He swung up with his other arm and hit the underneath of the Tyranid monstrosity's head, sending it realing. It slashed out with it's other talon, scoring a great gourge in the front armour, pushing the ancient Dreadnought casing to it's limits. Zindler roared with righteous fury, and charged forward. A talon came sweeping down, he batted it aside. He smashed into the Tyranid, bowling it over. He hammered it's underbelly, crushing it's outer bone which shattered, sending organic shrapnel into it's alien organs. Yet still it lived. He struck again, his weapon piercing it, going inside it's body. He pulled upwards and his weapon broke it's carapace. The Carnifex roared in it's death throws, galons of ichor spilling everywhere. The Tyranids faltered and retreated. "We must move quickly! Another wave like that and we'll be finished" Arkus proclaimed. The small company of heroes began moving again, with the three remaining Red Scorpion marines passing their final respects to the four dead bodies that they were leaving behind.

Then again, you seem to know what we're going to be doing 20 pages on from any given point. I'm gonna stop guessing now and just see what happens.. :d
The eye of the darkness can see all, can see through space and even time, across the galaxy...
lolwut. DON'T QUESTION THE GM!

If not necrons... then a foe not constrained by outdated rules. Well, we're screwed.

Err wraith lord that died earlier? Or it’s a robot greater daemon of nurgle. Or a soul grinder. OR IT COULD BE A GOOD GUY THAT’S GONNA HELP US!!!1111!
No? Guess not.
BIC: The squad sprinted across open ground, all around them tyranid fire was spitting sporadically. It is said that when something terrible is about to happen, time seems to slow, giving the human mind time to respond to its immediate end. Sceptics say this is either nonsense, or perhaps, the shock of the bodies’ incoming demise slows the blood transfusion throughout the body. Either way, when time seemed to slow for Arkus, and he felt the ground at his feet begin to bulge upwards, he had only time to look down at the rapidly rising Trygons face, which was just breaking through the soil beneath him. However, this was not his end. It seemed that others had seen this sudden woe before he had. Just as the Trygons body erupted through the soil, Arkus felt himself being dragged away from its tunnel entry. Time returned to normal, and the sound that had seemed to have become muted around him, burst back into life.
++ Zindler! Now! ++
The dreadnaught obliged, swinging his seismic hammer over his head, and bringing it crashing down onto the emerging jaws of a tyranid menace. The things head was pulped in a disgusting spray of teeth, ichor and goo, as the combination of massive hammer, and powerful shockwaves erupted through its head, reducing the cranium to slime. Arkus clambered back to his feet and looked into the eyes of his saviour. It was a space marine, slightly stocky, and with a sullen expression on his face. Arkus had never bothered to ask the marines names in his squad until now, and it shamed him that he did not even know the names of those who had fallen defending him.
“Thank you. You saved my life, forgive me, what is your name?”
The marine stared at him for a few seconds more, before replying
++ My name is Kiras. Try not to get yourself killed so often ++

OOC: Nice bit of Roleplaying there, Ghosty.. But in the last bit of roleplay I posted, I did post the names of all the surviving scorpion marines. Maybe edit your post so that Arkus merely thanks one of the named marines?
