HAHA - I don't blame you I'm not too fond of spiders.
"Since I've been lovin you, I bin wooorrrkin, seveeeeen till eleveeeen" - yeah thats the one.

Brian blessed is all done and ready (but gotta wait for sunrise for a proper shot) - his beard is a bit whiter than it should be for proper blessed - but he is the current leader of the squats so I figure he needs the white beard as a badge of authority.

Heres a pic for comparison if no-ones seen ultimate banzuki

Never even heard of it ( I think I watched to much TV in my youth and I only watch it round friends these days ) but just looking at that shot makes me want to go find it on the interwebs. But not now, no, not now, must..go..workroom. Or actually just keep browsing dakka Just noticed the time, know I was working late again tonight ( I know where you're coming from in that respect) but it seems I've managed to compose 3, now 4 replies tonight, and done NOTHING else, not even get some food (I don't think the crisps and the chunk of cheese I bought home with me counts really).

And what sane person would be fond of a creature which naturally has more limbs than a tyranid? I don't think they're natural at all.

Edit: I mean how could I possibly resist Brian Blessed, sorry BRIAN BLESSED, in red stormtrooper armour?

It is great isn't it
I'm afraid he doesn't show himself much - he basically narrates a show were the Japanese public try and do impossibly hard obstacles - kinda like takeshi's castle but bigger budget and less mud

Now this thread has everything! even BRIAN BLESSED. So where are all the people?
Maybe I will have to work Chuck Norris in somehow. I need 2 find a miniature with a mullet, beard, dark glasses and big muscles - for now here is a gratuitous picture for comparison

Thought it might be something like that from the background. But let's face it the mud was half the fun in takeshi's castle And the other half was the paper sheets they had to jump through - oops, that one's wood! 'Course I was normally channel surfing whenever I came across it so they were probably the only bits I'd see

I'll make a note not to look at any squat bikes when I head over to e-bay for some bits ( quick mini related reference in a vain and blatant attempt to keep vaquely on topic )

edit: lol, nice, now it does indeed have everything you could possibly need - squats, chuck and BRIAN.

And how did you manage to get 2 seperate posts rather than an 'auto-append' ???

If they do he'll just SHOUT over the top of their objections.

As long as you didn't upload them to the gallery that is

edit: Anyway, they're not gratuitous, they're very, very important reference shots for an upcoming project of yours aren't they

Yep, it certainly does, so how DID you manage to avoid it with your Chuck post?

Oh, right, because it was Chuck. Bet Legoburner has a special filter in place for Chuck.

And yes, we demand a Chuck mini from you now (preferably, but not necessarily, not a squat in his case)

Hey-hey, Brian's looking cool there, even with the white beard

12hours for the auto-append thing to not kick in - unless you post Chuck pics apparently >.<

Love the skelly pic, but couldn't you have found a basking shark if you looked a bit harder?

And cheers for those pics of the troll heads, I'm up for both ( I'm presuming you are happy to part with them as you have no studio in which to replace them at the moment? Sorry should have checked that when you offered really ).

I'll PM you in a bit to sort details out.

No I'm very happy to part with them, My shelves are chockablock with sculpture and books and I need some space before I can make more.
Rumours of a kiln and wheel going for free have been circulating and if I want them I better get off my but and find a studio. And If that turns out to be bullpoo I might do a night school ceramic class and just say to them not to bother teaching me, just let me sit in the corner with a big pile of clay

I will remember the 12 hour rule - and use chuck sparingly. Anyhow let me know when you want em - Have you got a paypal account?

I hear you on the shelves full of books things certainly Had to cut down my library by a couple of hundred books when I moved to the boat And I have no idea where I'm putting these mini's now I've started working on them again in a serious (well, you know -ish) manner.
And yeah, get off your butt Can't turn down a free kiln/wheel combo surely?

and PM sent.

Hey, minis don't take up that much space... until they start to really build up in larger quantities...

I object only to the fact that a picture of BRIAN BLESSED from Black Adder 1 was not included in this thread.

I have a new project - I cant seem to win myself a rogue trader dreadnought, and anyway I always thought they kindof sucked - so I'm going to be a little ambitious and make my own, combining my fav bits of the rt dread and the 2nd ed version. I have started with milliput for large parts and will finish up with green stuff for detail - which I hope will redeem this as its looking a little lame at the mo. Its going to be the lascannon / powerfist with twin bolters version. I'm considering making the lascannon a twin linked version but I am short on RT lascannons. Heres the work so far

I'm not sure whether he should be a tech-guard dread or space marine dread - Or even inquisotorial

I love the Dread so far! You're right: that original official GW Dread design was so awkward, yours has way more style!. Keep it going.

Cookies, huh? I love UK television. I just started on 'The Sandbaggers' 1978, Roy Marsden. Kind of like 'The Sweeney' without as much action.

Don't remember much of the sandbaggers, except it was kind of gritty, talky spy stuff, may have to look it up now I've been reminded of it. Obviously can recall Sweeney though, essential viewing when I was a lad - 'Get your trousers on, you're nicked', 'You're going down you slag'

Weety - you updating the legs a bit? I seem remember the original ones as a bit skinny, could have sworn I had one at some point but buggered if I know where it is now .
Think I may have a spare RT lascannon laying around somewhere if you want, I'll have a poke around - the plastic version I'm afraid Certainly got some of the space crusade marine ones, that might work as the upper cannon if you're doing an over/under style.
Looking forward to where you go with this anyway.

Yeah I'm going for a sort of transitional dreadnought as I never liked the skinny legs and arms - it made them look a bit feeble. any heavy weps would be useful, I was thinking of doing an over-under type system!

I'm a bit worried aboot the powerfist and the feet - they will be buy far the most fiddly bits, I'm going to wait till monday when I have some 4 cm scenic bases arriving before I make the feet - I can make them in situ.

In all probability nothing will get done as a friend who likes drinking and watching films is coming over with a bottle or three. Good times

chow for now and 'watch out hes gota shoota'

Just had a rootle and came up with these :

The old shoulder mounted lascannon is probably a bit weedy. The tarantula twin-las is only so-so, may not be what you're after. The Space Crusade lascannon would be good on top, depends on the other I suppose.

And these:

Space Crusade mounted twin las, might be okay, but I reckon the original Land Raider las-cannon might do the trick

If you're interested PM me your address and I'll send 'em off.

well Ive already incorporated one of the shoulder mounted RT ones so another of those is what I'm looking for - your right they are a bit small, but so is my dreadnought - Ithink I should have thought it through a little more. Body wise he is the same size as a terminator, but he will stand out a lot more due to large legs and arms. I seem to remember the old dreads being small so it probably doesnt matter. thanks a bunch!

Bit of a problem - I have update photos - the basic structure of the dread is complete and sanded down, ready for detail, but for some reason my photo card reader is malfunctioning - I suppose its been around for 4-5 years and I have stepped on it a few times, but damn, blast and balls anyway

I think perhaps interest in the older styles needs a bit of refinement an class... at least that what I tell myself.
