This gorgeous level 3 Kabuki Steam Knight limited edition model was also based to a level 3 standard. The end result is a subtle, beautiful model with great use of colors and blending to really set off a gorgeous model!
This beautiful level 3 paint job and based Iyanden Eldar army really came out great. Awesome basing, layered yellows, grays and blues and green highlights really set this army apart from the norm.
I read an earlier post about some tanks, someone commented about the cammo looking "sprayed" on, let me assure you it looked fine! When the Army paints vehicles it's sprayed on, we didn't brush on the cammo, we painted our own vehicles, we didn't send them off to a high speed cammo painting place... lol Painted out own and it looked sprayed on...
You have the layer paitning down pat!

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.
Love both the Ret and Iyanden armies. I always find models that are almost completely white to be so hard to do, and these look amazing.

You don't have to tell me twice, I just got pictures of the Eldar being painted up to level 1 for me! I couldn't be happier, I will have to send you some pictures after I base them and put on the insignia.

Holy Mackerel, those Eldar are absolutely top-notch! 1000 gemstones? Yes, it's believable, but - if true - when you think about it, that is actually quite amazing. If not a joke, of course Really wonderful thread, I'll be sure to follow along!
That pearling is just plain beautiful. I need to practice with my airbrush more...

And, your Eldar are done, brotha! They look awesome. We just need to base them, they should be in the mail Monday or Tuesday!
I got update pics on Saturday, I am really happy. I am thinking that may be the army I take to the LVO!
You should have some of your artists do some video tutorials on these techniques. While I have almost no time to paint anymore, hence the commissioned Eldar, I think they do some great work. That pearl effect using glazes is a prime example of what they have to offer to the other painters in the community. Just some food for thought for after you're done having no life or time due to the LVO.

I love this effect! If I may ask, how did you get the glaze to dry in the varying thicknesses without creating rings? I've been having bad luck with my attempts at glazes due to how they dry...

It is stippled metallics with a glaze of choice over it, comes out great! To avoid rings? I honestly don't know, we haven't had that issue, but try using a medium.
Nice looking, WB's. A little too bright for my personal tastes, but still well done. Any reason for the completely bland bases or for not painting the plasma coils on the plasma guns?

Usually this is because of what the customer asked/paid for. For example FLG recently painted a small Iyanden army for me with bare bases because I wanted to base them myself. It's funny how often this topic comes up in the various commission painting threads.

As OverwatchCNC pointed out, we do as the customer asks =) Sometimes they want things that other people may not agree with, but we do what we are paid to do.
@Thread
This Tau commission is a great example of a level 1 paint job with level 2 basing. The basing really helps so spice up the models a lot, and the simple level 1 paint job is great for a table top standard to get you playing the game with a fully painted force on a budget! - See more at: http://www.frontlinegaming.org/portfolio-items/tau-suits/#!prettyPhoto

These beautiful level 3 paint job and level 3 basing Eldar models came out extremely well. They feature all kinds of advanced painting techniques such as the stippling on the blue of the models as well as blending as well as coloring the crystals on the Fire Prism!
