Did you just shoot me? Right after I just pulled myself out of a building?

In RPG's, there is no reprieve. Only war!

Just to say sorry i haven't posted in a day or two, had family over for Easter and apparently me working on an RPG is 'anti-social', Gah, parents have no sense of priority

Lol.
So what does a rail-rifle or what ever do?

In game it's a powerful anti tank rifle, less so then the Rail Cannon employed by the Hammerhead's and the Broadsides. But it is still a piece of powerful anti-elite weaponry. The stat's in game are something like Str 6 Ap 1 Heavy 1 (forgive me if that's not exactly it, i don't play Tau) so they would be strong enough to punch a hole through terminator armour where ever it hit it, but unless it hits the head or slap bang in the chest i doubt it would instant kill. Very likely blow a hole straight through where it hits though, but Marines can survive with a hole in their abdomen for a surprisingly long time.

S6 AP 1 Rapid Fire. Yeah, that'll do a number to a Terminator but you have the Crux Terminatus to save your butt.

To be fair, i find it a little odd how the terminators could spot a stealthy Tau pathfinder over 15'' away in game terms (he only fired a single shot, meaning he was out of rapid fire range and i believe it is range 30'') in a rubble strewn city atop a building by the position of a wound when it was fired from behind them so they don't even have the muzzle flash to give the Tau away.

I mean if they went to cover then confirmed his position via Auspex i would understand but simply spying him seems a bit unrealistic. Also, due to the Rail Rifle out ranging the Storm bolter by quite a bit it also a possibility he is outside of their effective range.

Auto-senses, Terminator Armour also has inbuilt auspex and heat detectors.

In a war torn city, much like the cramped confines of a space hulk as precedence, i doubt Auspex's would be overly effective at such ranges. I'd also like to think, using nothing but head cannon as i know not otherwise, that heat detectors wouldn't have the range necessary to pick out a lone pathfinder at such ranges.

Even if Terminator Armour does have sensors that effective (they don't have rules such as night vision or ignore cover to show that they do in game, but i know rules=/=fluff sometimes) i would be hesitant to use such omniscient sensors and heat detectors built in to armour that is all but impervious to small arms fire that ALSO has a built in force field seems dangerously powerful in an RPG.

If you think things are 'dangerously powerful' you should have protested back when the Guardsman player joined.

Seriously, Terminators VS Guardsmen on equal numbers is not 'dangerously powerful'?

I know from personal experience that great power unbalance won't damage a roleplay as long as you manage it correctly.

I don't recall what colour armour he said his Tau wore, it didn't mention it in his first post. It also isn't mentioned what colour the buildings are, what colour the sky is, what colour lenses the Terminator is using (I know in space hulk they see things tinted green) . It's an alien planet, the colour of his character may or may not be seems irrelevant.

At any rate, it's not my fight so i shall leave it between you two to decide what should or shouldn't happen.

I have only made passing references to the color of the armor, but it is in fact, bare metal, with the pathfinder's being polished brightly due his slaaneshi nature. I have no problem with them seeing me, a rail gun is not really that sneaky of a weapon, but I will say there weapons will be less than effective at this range.

And I think it might me time in a couple posts to bring in some more nids for some non-terminator marines to fight.

And if anyone wants to fight some tyranids, don't be afraid to add them on your own.

Meh. I'm OP as it is.
Shouldn't we be avoiding a me on chaos conflict, because I'm like the only marines with a cannon category weapon?

Plasma Cannons are effective weapons against CSM but no I.W.I.N. button. It's very possible to 'contain' a single Plasma Cannon if you use tactics.

That's good. I would like a big fire fight between three terminators and twenty-odd traitors, we've all got ranged weapons.

I thought they were Craftworld Eldar. I didn't know... Oh, you meant killing them. Right. Well, they are the best non-Space Marines there is in the Imperium. Face the fury of a weapon that isn't as good as a Bolter but pretty close!

My Eldar are of the Dark variety, while his party is lead by a CWE Farseer and 2 Eldar Harlequins. Harlequins are weird as they don't serve the CWE any more then the Exodites or the Dark Eldar, as they work for the Eldar Race as a whole.
