cheers lads. he's pretty much done now. just need to add a few highlights to the motley on his coat and pop on a bit of grass on the base. Leaving him for the night though. lovely fig. HAS to painted in pieces though. and that 'shroud of cegorach' is a total dick to put on last. Solitaire is up next

Ohhh - nearly forgot - finally finished the Death Jester. Fiddly but lovely fig to paint. Done as part of the Masque Of The Shattered Mirage. Well happy with him - hope yez like him

tip? Don't use white!!



well..... bit of a lie. Actually there is very very little white used there at all. just a few highlights on the really obvious places.
Whole thing was base sprayed with skull white on a day when that blasted spray actually worked. Then onto that the deep recesses and shadow areas where painted in with a thinned mech standard grey (you can see it on one of the wip shots i posted over on the comp thread) then I used loads of realy thin layers of ulthuan grey (my not-white white colour) to blend and soften the recesses greys into shadows and give 'white'upper areas. Finally I used a little thinned white scar for the zenithal highlights on the top of the left thigh boot, biceps etc

Death jester looks great finished, I really love the scenic bases that the harlies come with; they set things off nicely. The new troupe members are coming along, I like your not white approach to white, I'll have to remember that for when I get rid of this heat induced paint block.

Well, that's the first 3 of the Harlequin troop done! Tricky tricky. Will finish the final two and build them their own wee dio when I get back from the honeymoon!! Speaking of which - better get my arse in gear and start packing b4 the wife goes all Khorne beserker on me

Hahah - Thx very much Az. They were......tricky and a bit long to do but so worth it in the end and of course now I look at the photos I see a few things I need to fix.....always the way eh! Great box of figs though. There is one I dont like though - the guy do some kind of flying kick thing. The other two I'll get done after the honeymoon. My wee force of the masque of the shattered mirage is coming together and thankfully looking very homogenous Just the Solitaire and two more players to do (and 3 more skyweavers o.O )

Beautiful pieces. You present your figures very well in the photos. It really stands out. I continue to watch with awe and just the right amount of jealousy to drive me to keep trying to improve. Good job that man!

Thanks very much guys. It's a pretty plain masque colour scheme so needed a bit of tweaking to make them all individual and stand out. Well happy how's its progressing though

Stunning, just stunning! I'll be amazed if you don't take this month's challenge, or place in the top 3 at worst!

Seems I will need to be following all of your work as the Eldar are fantastic. The Wraithlord is so smooth and clean its the epitome of an Eldar Ghost Warrior. The Harlequins are progressing steadily with an incredible amount of detail.

Do you have a plan for the models or are you more likely to just collect and paint the models you like?
