The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
"the play's the thing wherein I'll catch the conscience of the king,
I saw that the Doctor Who minis are 38mm tall as opposed to 25/28/33mm. So more like the marvel and Batman minis. At that larger scale those metal models really do look horrendous. Sure the darleks look fine but I just can't get other the metals.

What I'm trying to say is. A larger scale model, you would expect a closer likeness. - There's more room to work with.
I would almost give them the excuse of: "Not everyone can be the Perry Twins working on the LOTR range (14 years ago, though! 14 years!)" if these were 25mm sculpts.
EG Elrond, from Fellowship of the Ring.
25mm sculpt, in metal. - A centimetre smaller than Warlords Doctor Who range.
But yeah, whatever.
But, looking at more closely to the same scale.
That's Will Smith, no doubt about it.
Or Tom Hardy.
And Warlord release, well, THIS?
Such a wasted opportunity.

WIlfred and his sculpt still rock. Never thought I'd see him as a mini! Clara though... wow....even though I've seen her before, seeing that sculpt again is still a shock.

And then they give us the "Mental Breakdown" 12th doctor... ON top of that. He looks more like a gray haired David Bowie.
Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.
Just arrived in our design studio - first test castings of our forthcoming plastic Cybermen!
Like the plastic Daleks, these are completely push-fit - no glue required, with a quick construction that nevertheless provides some nice variety of poses!
Wow, those cybermen poses are very stiff. Some more dynamic poses like hopping over rubble or taking cover/aiming from a kneel would have been good for variety.
Spoiler:
Just kidding! sorta... they are indeed stiff but appropriate to their limited range of motion when not marching in the show! Nice detail on the figs as well. I'm surprised they're making so much in plastic.

I've got the 10th Doctor set on order. I look forward to seeing what it looks like when it arrives.
Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack
I felt pretty burned when I bought the Terminator Genysis game for the miniatures, but I'd be willing to spend the same amount per mini on these Dalek and Cybermen miniatures with only the slightest grumbling.
Hope they have sprues or small box options available.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

Dysartes wrote: What was wrong with the Genisys figures, Bob? They looked pretty decent when I saw them in the plastic at UKGE 2015.
Nothing if they cost $1 or at most $1.50 per figure. For the prices they charged, the detail was soft, especially on the humans, the poses were really bland on the terminators, the parts fit poorly for modern high-level plastics, the human weapons were blobby and silly looking, especially the plasma guns, the humans were generally EM4 quality at GW prices, and there were no options for the terminators and few for the humans. They were clearly designed (and well done) as playing pieces for a Target Blowout Shelf mass appeal boardgame, but they were priced like premium table top wargame miniatures.
Considering Warlord's history and current range, I am expecting the worst.
@Bob: Did you pay full price for them early on or get them when they started to populate the online discount bins of various stores? Obviously that doesn't affect the quality vs MSRP price analysis (I didn't buy them even at a discount so can't comment on that) but I'm just curious.

Before discount bins, sadly. there was some discount, but I remember thinking that only brought the minis down to something like $3 per mini. I tell myself that I'll eventually play the game when my kid is old enough to see the movies, but I know that's just a comforting lie.
Funny thing is the local FLGS has all the Genysis stuff in the bins, and they're still about $2 per figure and not moving. I guess once they have been there for ten years they can go back to full price, like the dozen boxes of Starship Troopers Hopper Bugs the FLGS can't move.

What kits in particular is your ire directed at? The plastics produced in-house and subcontracted for Warlord's own games have been quite excellent - all the in-house GoA plastics, in-house and Italeri designed Bolt Action vehicles, in-house Bolt Action infantry.
"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

Well, by their history, I mean that they have some of the worst historical plastics around. You of all people, constantly railing against bobble heads and melon hands, should be aware of Bolt Sction's terrible, terrible heroic scale. Huge heads, dumpy little bodies, and true scale weapons that look feeble and disquieting on such lumpy bastards, they're the worst heroic scale minis on the market, outside of the Epirian Contractors. But they certainly aren't the cheapest! In fact, when Wargames Factory put out better quality plastics at cheaper prices, Warlord had to go and ruin it for everyone. Yes, I hold a grudge over that. Tripling the prices on the survivors and putting the Samurai into direct order sprue limbo were both dick moves.
For their current range, the GoA plastics are somewhat better. The Ghar war suits are fantastic, worth their price even for a tight bastard like me, but the human plastics are just...ugh. Most of them have to be assembled into Perry Miniatures' style No Excitement Allowed poses. They're scrawny and fairly plain, which makes the price per mini more of an issue for me. The drones are great, and so are the weapon designs in my opinion, but they come on the same sprue as the most boring sci fi plastics around. I honestly prefer the Proxie dudes, who are at least fun and cheap enough to screw around with for conversions guilt free.
Oh yeah, and there's an entire thread about how Warlord has released some terrible Doctor Who minis.

OT: ThinkGeek has a CyberMonday sale that's lasted past Monday, and I found a fair amount of Dr. Who stuff in their ONSALE area. The Cyber promotion is free shipping, so you can pick up some Whovian without going after $75 of stuff. Picked up a lit Dr. Who TARDIS Chrismas ornament, myself!
