They are catering for the 40k tournament crowd. Doors? LOS openings. Bad. 40k needs LOS blocking.

I am underwhelmed also. Hopefully they still get enough funding to make the stretch goal pack worth €35 but it's hard to imagine this being more successful than D&L3. I don't even know which to pick between City Defenders and Vertical elements (because I'm underwhelmed by both). The floors with the awkward LEGO trim beams don't seem worth it compared to something I could knock up in Blender and print myself, and they sure as hell don't fit with Kazumi with the electrical wiring underneath nor really the cracked concrete tops with otherwise all-metal Cobalt.

I really do not understand the decision to make just one floor style… and then not make it generic enough to fit all four themes.

The more I look at the City theme the busier it looks, especially on multiple levels together. And too busy is a common complaint I see about D&L sci-fi on the Lead Adventure Forum.

https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=134545.0

And those busy details which look great on a couple of pieces start looking really repetitive without plain cement walls between them.

Do you have to buy the floor set to have pieces for the bridge set or does the bridge come with the floor pieces?
Looking forward to this one.
Would be nice to have the third KS set in before starting this one.

I do not have any of the other Rampart kickstarters so do not quite know this answer, but are the three other floor styles that are included in the three previous designs (and available to purchase separately) not "floors"?
I just assumed the new "ruins" floors are for the new "ruins" design.

.

Not really floors no, just platforms it’s very difficult to make a whole floor from them in the end I didn’t even bother with them and just used 5mm Foamed PVC which looks similar especially as details like tiles and cracks can be carved in it easily. Beasts of War ended up using card floors for their big build for similar reasons. Black Magic Craft did make whole floors from them but he had lots sent to him and he still had a lot of gaps to fill to make it work.

City ruin floors are the first time they’ve done proper floors but they won’t fit Kazumi with the tech details and they won’t fit the look of Cobalt or Cathedral without slight modifications as those have octagonal pillars not square.

I won’t be buying extra floors for Rampart 3 at €20 a set plus whatever trims will cost on top, 5mm Foamed PVC is €7 for 3 200x300 sheets.

If you have not seen it yet, it may be worth your time to review the old Empire of Man Kickstarter from Archon Studio.

Does anyone know if the Empire of Man Kickstarter accepts late pledges? Is there a PM for it, or do I pledge through Kickstarter? I didn’t see it on their Gamefound site, but Archon are clearly a company who love to keep late pledges open.

Thanks.

Not sure what's happening to that cannon but otherwise a neat enough concept, tho I'd much rather they did the bespoke postapoc theme that was shown off at the start.

It does not unfortunately. I have contacted them about buying anything from that kickstarter, as I missed it, but it is not possible.
Since they are bringing back some of the items from it here, I hope they bring back more, would love several of those tanks. I would buy the Stahlratte in a heartbeat, and the artillery and MBT also both look good.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

You dont need Empires of Men, the models are available as free extras with Rampart 3 pledges, and some appeared in Rampart 2, notably the tank and commissar..

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

Even the not-Eldar minis? Those are the ones I most want.

Very few of them have been available in rampart previously, and for now, only human infantry has been shown to be a part of rampart 3. Which is why I hope they add the tanks as well

The contents list for the Ruined city set has been updated. I'm happy to see wall toppers are part of the set.

99€ for 1 set plus city defenders/vertical elements plus SG

versus

49$ for 1 set plus starcide preview plus SG (Rampart 2)

Better be amazing SG, last time I got a tank.

Are those eagle toppers going to be available separately? Or even as part of an accessory sprue with the other “Xx” elements? Asking for a Battlefleet.

Way big for BFG and probably only in the main wall kits if previous toppers are to go by.

We clearly disagree on how much eagle is too much eagle for BFG.

For starters you get a big walker if the KS makes it to 300,000€ (?), but I understand what you are saying, the prior KS were very good content for the money.

All I could think of was this quote from Futurama:

"The seats are stuffed with eagle down, and the dashboard is made form the beaks of a thousand eagles. Also, there are some eagles under the floorboards....the luxury edition has so much more eagle. It saddens me to think of you missing out."

unless I am mistaken, the new sets include much more than the older sets?

New pricing got me nervous, so picked up 4 sets. If the new KS SGs blow me away (like they did in D&L3), I'll get the 99 Euro core for City Ruins.

Piggybacking the above if anyone is looking to dump a Wolverine tank or two - I really don’t need to add to my terrain backlog but I’ve been looking for a cheaper alternative to GW tanks for display with my sci-fi models and this looks the part.

I think for me it is really going to depend on the stretchgoals for whether Mrs. GG and I back Rampart 3. Right now we are not feeling it yet but I am trying to remain optimistic.
