Why does dakka always flip photos on mobile uploads?
it's (probably) to do with the way a lot of phones (iphones especially) seem to handle the 'metadata' they attach to photos not keeping up with whether you're holding them landscape or portrait. so you take a landscape photo, but the metadata says it's portrait so when uploaded 'smart' sites like Dakka the site flips the photo to what the metadata says is the correct orientation, but of course it's not

Well I'm certainly glad to see that the teaser thousand sons they showed off a week or 2 back really was the least detailed of the bunch. They really do look amazing.
I was kind of expecting them to have small Egyptian style headdress or something to kind of tie them into the rubric marines. I can't wait to see what else they have in store.

They're bits of the jump packs.
What are thy used for? I've never seen such bits included with any other jump packs.
Is is some kind of harness for putting the packs on torsos normally not used for jump marines?
They go on the back of the jumppack and are normally directly attached to it in the plastic versions of the Mk 8.
Those TS helmets are definitely ...different than what I expected. They look kinda weird but the painted models look actually nice even with the heads. Hmm I will probably get used to it.
Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

a few 360's would have been nice

I'm very pleased to see that the 30K 1KSs are not super blinged out. Would have been easy to do HEY EGPYT and call it a day. More room to paint, more room to have 30K 1KSs who aren't just resin versions of the existing Rubicon-ed 40k marines, and more idea room for 1KSs who are basically just space marines, despite how funky their legion is.

I noticed this too. It's very gapy
Looking at it, I'm fairly convinced it's dry-fitted together, not glued. Not a great thing to do with a retail image, but FW especially (and GW generally) sometimes don't use the best possible images.

I am not sure what I wanted 30k 1k Sons to look like but I am not stirred by these models. I was more (surprisingly) interested by the DA sculpts than these.
Maybe I will do a 1k Sons 40k army with the plethora of awesome 3rd party bits out there.

It's a transparent red over a silver base, I'd bet good money.

I'd bet their using either one of Tamiya's clear paints (like with their original Word Bearers) or their using their own Angron Red clear airbrush paint.
