In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. When human beings are governed by "thou shalt not", the individual can practise a certain amount of eccentricity: when they are supposedly governed by "love" or "reason", he is under continuous pressure to make him behave and think in exactly the same way as everyone else.

If its a card that says whether or not somebody is a Neo-Nazi, I could understand why people might treat them differently.

Piss off Godwin, its a joke.

People assume he was short too, though I still don't know why. Black and white photographs can't blur height perception, can they?

I desperately wish that responsible governance were this simple (and this broad).

In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. Responsible government eh?

You know the only scandal I'd really ever get into besides possibly a sex one like good ol Clinton would probably most likely at one point try to take over the world.

However I think my views are alittle too rightest for today's Liberal ideology.

I feel really fething terrible.

So far my senior year of high school sucks with the exception of getting into my top colleges.

Just like 5 minutes ago I found out that a father of a friend of mine passed away from cancer last Sunday.

I'm sorry but that just fething sucks. I can't imagine how I would feel if my father died.

Today has just been really fething sucky.

I fing hate most people at my school, between the annoying retards, to the laud mouthed idiots.

My teachers suck. Only good ones right now is my algebra/math teacher, she is really nice. my science teacher is more like a quite observer, who tends to lend his voice into conversations. he don't teach us nothing, even one of my friends, who is pretty smart, got a 67 on a test, while I got a 96. I checked his paper, and yes, he did deserve that 67, but he should be doing better then that, and the teacher won't even help him on it anymore.

I just plain hate my core teacher.

And also my friends, when they aren't trying to copy me, or act like some of the other people in class, they are just being annoying, and I have to go through this for 61/2 hours a day, 5 days a week. school work isn't bad, the atmosphere of my school is though.

And something that really, REALLY gets under my skin is hearing people eat. I don't know why, but if I hear you eat, I become sour fast.

And then my brother. he shares a room with me, so I can hear everything he says. sometimes
it is like free comedy, but most of the time he is moaning about things, and getting angry at other things like chores and just our family. and he has the worst girlfriend ever. she does things that I won't say(nothing really bad, just her b*****t) but I just wish my brother would dump her and get a normal girlfriend.

That's a load off my chest, thanks for making this thread, and listening if you want.

You think that's bad, you should try teaching. 30 kids in 45 minute sessions who think they're going to be rockstars, pro athletes or movie stars for 6 and 1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week can drive a person to drink anti-freeze cocktails.

Same with Napoleon, it just so happens that the "other" people who were in paintings with him occasionally were viewed to be giants in their day. (therefore, Napoleon was of only average height)

Hooo boy...
Not the first time that's caused troubles for me.

I'm in the middle of Exam Week. Just finished a Legal, think I did pretty well. It was about environmental law, pretty droll stuff, but I think my recommendations concerning the Referral Process should get me a few good marks.
Also recieved my English Poetry mark. A-. Did have hopes of a solid A, but I guess should settle for that.
Maths tommorow, should be a breeze...

BTW, funny story. (May be slightly offensive to people of a religeous persuasion) In my Bussiness Exam I took out a crucifix my father had given from my wallet and performed mock last-rites, getting a few laughs. I then proceeded to smash the test. At the beggining of the Legal Exam, I was struggling to form up my ideas and get properly started. So I took out the crucifix, self-performed last-rites and after that it was pretty much smooth sailing. I think I'm getting just a little bit supersticious, buuut...

At the moment I'm feeling clinically depressed because somethings been wighing heavily on my mind, and it's this: why is it that in the old days people could create things as awe-inspiring (and thats not something I say often about...well, anything) as, say, le Mont St Michael, but the stupid chavs who go to my school have trouble pronouncing the word 'apple'.
It just doesn't seem worth it to carry on if people like that are going to be populating the world when I grow up. I kow there's penty of good kids out there, but really I can't help but feel I should end it all now before I set myself up for a life of pointlessness. Oh well.

@Little lord Fauntleroy

I rather agree, but lets examine the "beautfiul people" fallacy that you just postulated.

Were people smarter/more cultured in the past? Well, no. But you don't hear about all of the stupid and uneducated people (except as a rather unimportant mass entity). You hear about the people who did great things and created great works.

We still have people doing and making great stuff, but the average person cannot be above-average (think about that). In fact, a great deal of them are going to be below-average.

Now does that mean we have top be satisfied with tard-frakkers running around shouting "the sky is falling?" No. In my experience people suffer from a lack of education and entitlement (as in entitlement to think and speak about impoirtant things). If we do break down the world into stupid, smart, and brilliant people, we must also accept that the latter cattegories are responsible for eliminating the former through education.

Ahem.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I agree with pretty much everything you've said here, and I'm probably just talking out of my rear. I'm not going to go all emo again as I usually do on threads such as these, which is one of the many reasons people hate me, but I can't help but feel that teenagers these days just...well, don't care. And even if I try to educate them, try to help them make something great, They'll just shrug me off as they normally do.
I'm not trying to big myself up in any way here-I'll never do anything great, or worthy of note. Its simply that I wish people acted with a little sense. Because in the end, all of us will have to live with their mistakes.

Just got to keep trying. analyse the people around you, and find out the chink in their armour. What annoys them, what do they tend to think most about? Then once you find an in, just bring up a more complicated aspect of it. They don't have to agree with ypu, whats important is that they are thinking about it. Its actually better if they can prove YOU wrong, because it a rare satisfaction to be right on a basis of rock solid reasoning and evidence. That is the "bienen freud."

Its a slow process, but that is its strength as well as its weakness.

In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion.
