Nukka's be broke, but its on my list. Making do with finger/spit smoothing, then a primer to pick out rough spots, finally a once over with a really fine file. Clay shaper (like a drill and vise) would make my life much easier, but at least this is soothing my OCD something fierce!

Unfortunately, I do not get around to doing too much conversion work. Probably due to a lack of bitz. However, I managed to convert this Tau Pathfinder way back around 2005. This was my first Tau mini and did not even notice until it was too late that Tau don't have 5 fingers. So, the hand holding the sword obviously has that problem. Other than that I'm still pleased with the overall affect and the concept behind Ninja Tau.

Hope you like him.

Thanks guys.

@MasterSlowPoke - The disk is a cheap broach I got from Michael's. I have 2 more in production that will be similar but with more detail for my heralds.

@Cutthroatcure - I sculpted the spore using a wooden goose egg (again from Michael's) and some Procreate. I then made a mold so I could crank out a few copies. The base is from a Pegasus Hobbies crater.

Ok... That Tau is badass!

I liked this one in particular as it uses quite a few different bits.

I repeated the level of conversion work on the 2k army it is part of.

This has gotta be some of the most inspirational stuff I've seen on Dakka. Even models that I don't particularly like (as a matter of purely personal taste) have got amazing levels of creativity put into them.

@Cutthroatcure - It's got some nice scale too. I really enjoyed sculpting/painting it. Too bad I'm not playing with my nids currently. Here's a scale pic:

silly, tau can't take close combat weapons.

That and the pod and the looted trygon are pure awesomesauce.

So, my best conversion was my first commissar, but now, for those who didn't see it before, it's my most recent lord commissar:

With the exception of the bolt pistol in its holster, everything was from the regular cadian infantry sprue, and greenstuff.

@Soul of Iron - Thanks, man! Your scribes are wonderfully done and I really like the conversion work and paint scheme on your Tervigon.

@Ailaros - Really Tau can't take any close combat weapons? I did not know that. I paint, don't play unfortunatley. But seriously every Tau should carry a katana.
- Your commissar is a Beast! That sculpt is just pure ownage.

@Eye of Horus - Sweet Ass Def Skullz Tank! Love the checkered paint scheme. It looks great!

lol, the only close combat "weapon" most tau can take is a bonding knife that is purely ceremonial and in some cases just painted on (as for suits). :(

Just a small amount of conversion on this one. Basically redid his foot to look more like jumping/flying and added blood drops all over his shoulder pads (not visible in this photo) and on his knee.

VERY nice. This was what I had planned to do for my Jump Libby, though not for Blood Angels. Nicely done!
