So what's that going to work out roughly as? £30 for the book and £25 for the Three Hunters? Touch more expensive than I was expecting.

Finecast 3 hunters are £22 so a 3 quid increase isn't bad for plastics.
If the book is £30 that's also not badly priced. The main books are 35 a d battle companies book is 25 and gondor at war is near double the size of battle companies book

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

£25 for the Hunters seems reasonable, given how impressive these new plastics are in person. I wasn't sold on the studio paintjobs, but having painted the new Theoden, they're definitely on par with the metals in terms of detail, with the advantages in posing and fine parts that plastic brings (no more swords as thick as they are broad... )

It'll be £20-odd after most discounters, which is about what you'd pay for 3 character minis for most other ranges (if not less), and far cheaper than you'd get anything other than the basic, common versions of these characters second hand (try finding any Aragorn other than the Helm's Deep one at a good price on Ebay...).

Honestly, if it wasn't for Theoden I'd be a tad unsure about the price tag but if they're anything like him they'll be a joy to build and paint. The studio paint jobs - specifically for faces - continue to disappoint though. They're not doing the best job selling what are, I'm sure, great sculpts.

Eówyn i'm 95% sure will be plastic with removable Merry like Gandalf and Pippin. The two orc characters i'm going to guess will be a FW double pack.

For some reason I love the phrase "removable Merry".

Odd decision to make Gondor at War and dice webstore exclusives.

At least my FLGS says it's not and they are getting it as the usual non-web store only items. Albeit GW site says it is. Error in GW site? First print sold out already so 2nd going for webstore only? Weird.

It's an error. I spoke to Element Games this morning and the only things that are webstore exclusive are the commanders pack and (oddly) the dice.

Oh right, my bad. Yeah, it's just the dice and accessories pack. Still odd, considering the previous 3 sets were not. Gotta catch em all, anyway, as those are sooome lovely dice!

Hardly your bad when GW itself is claiming at their web site it's webstore exclusive

Wonder when Eowyn comes out? I was juuuust about to order Eowyn but then I saw this picture(nice timing) so ordered Eomer instead for 3rd hero. With box of riders as well I should have more than enough for all mounted all rohan force with 500 pts so I don't need to ally all the time with either Aragorn or army of the dead(only allies I have so far for them)

Here in the US, they haven't been getting the books for the shops. The last one was Direct Only but wasn't billed as such initially.

My local area GWs are not carrying any of the specialist games/subgames. No Necro or Titanicus or Middle Earth.

Need to go to FLGS that carries them (of which there aren't many that carry full lines).

Several people here are showing you evidence it is not. GAMES WORKSHOP says it is not web store exclusive. You just need to go their web page and notice how there's no red circle with white arrow there.

It is not direct only.

Was it really that hard to figure it out given that I literally qualified the statement with "INDEPENDENTS COULD ORDER IT"?

I went to buy it the day of release. My local GW did not receive any copies.

I’m just trying to help clarify — because your local GW not getting copies has nothing to do with the product being direct only or not.

It does when the quantifier is that GW shops were telling people it was an item that you had to order and wasn't going to be stocked on shelves. Saying "your local GW not getting copies has nothing to do with the product being direct only or not" is ridiculous, as GW shops tended to get stocked with any/all items when they're new. Necromunda stuff was getting released then going to Direct after.

Additional fun fact: did you know that the holiday Battleforces that just released were Direct Order items? They weren't marked as such. Independents could order with no real issues.
