So five web shops I buy wargaming stuff from in the UK have pages 404ing that previously had the Isengard Dice Set on offer on Saturday.
And Dark Sphere have indicated that they're unsure they will be getting in the stock they requested from Games Workshop.

So good to finally see a Middle-earth scenery kit designed with the same care and ingenuity typically seen in 40k sets - standardized dimensions and interchangeable parts that practically combine in various ways even before considering taking a knife or saw to the pieces. Excellent stuff, and the apparent popularity (the bundle set sold out rapidly) hopefully means we'll see more in the future. I know there have already been two sets of ruins, but imagine one designed like this.. yes please!

To be fair, the Laketown houses had the same modularity designed with them. They're both extremely good scenery kits.

I don't own the Lake-town kit, but I was not under the impression it is designed in quite with the same level of flexibility in mind - e.g. to create houses twice as long or high. I've seen a few people make something along those lines, but such modifications appeared to require a saw and the filling of some gaps. Even with the two-sided walls, there's a reason those houses all end up looking pretty similar. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice kit, but it doesn't appear to be as good as this one from that point of view. And of course, it was released in isolation, while here we have walls, a tower and a house all in the same style and with partially interchangeable bits, which naturally expands the possibilities a fair bit.

I know this has been seen on other sites since the book preview, but here's a close up of Helm. Probably coming out when the Dunlending stuff comes on general release.

If I hear Peachy say "great little" one more time, i'm going to shove a goblin up his nose. The scenery GW is producing these days is phenomenal. So much versatility and detail. They've got some clever lads working for them. Helm Hammerhand is interesting looking. Quite a departure from the rest of the Rohan line.

Which is what I like. How many centuries between LOTR and Helm\s time? Too bad it's not feasible to have whole rohan line receiving alternative sculpts in same style to make old times looking rohan force.

Already up in the FW thread but the invisible ringbearers are up for a week only.
Also Rosie Cotton and Gaffer and flower pots. And i have to say, Rosie and the flower pots are quite possibly some of the cutest models i have ever seen.

As usual, the paintjob on Rosie does the model no favours. They REALLY need to stop letting whoever paints FW models, paint them.

Dunlendings up today:

Rather impressively the horsemen are already out of stock as are Rosie and Gaffer.

Ring Bearers are also permanently sold out despite any being added on Wednesday which is extremely disappointing as we just about to order them.

Here's my ongoing struggle with LOTRSBG: I could buy Vikings from pretty much any miniature company for pennies on the dollar compared to these Forgeworld Dunlending Brand Vikings. And what would the difference be? It's not that they're bad looking Vikings, but they're just....they're just that.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |

Sadly I agree. I was vaguely hoping for a plastic dunlending box (despite low odds of that happening). ~$30-40 for 3 resin models is just no.

So what's the problem? They're just an option if you want to use them.

Not sure how that's an "ongoing struggle with LOTRSBG" as Dunlendings are just one small group in a pretty extensive range of typically rather more unique looking figures...
Though I did wish they hadn't gone for this look. If I wanted to play Vikings, I'd play any of a number of games which feature them; Middle-earth should be a bit more interesting. Automatically Appended Next Post: Aeneades wrote:Ring Bearers are also permanently sold out despite any being added on Wednesday which is extremely disappointing as we just about to order them.
Same; thought they were a pseudo-Made-to-Order kit like the Bard/Tauriel/Legolas set a while back, not a limited availability option...

I think he's vaguely implying that LoTR minis are somewhat generic and while he likes them it's cheaper to get similar minis else where?
