The problem with creating limited edition minis is that it creates a chinacast market. I really wanted the Ammo slave but price was too much and when I saw it for the first time it was sold out anyway and on ebay for $150.
Got 5 of them for $4 each from China, will be the same with the Distracted. Saw it for the first time in this thread today, $150 on ebay, I'm sure I will be able to get it from china for $4-6 each.

10second search and it's available for $16 from china, normally KD models cost 45Yuan, this one is 100 for some reason.

Oh, it's a 54mm model, that explains the price.

You could wait for reissues, like with the ammo slave.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also Gencon is coming up soon- the CMoN booth usually has a selection of KD minis. I'd be happy to post a list of what they have available on Thursday morning of the convention(first day that the dealer hall is open).
I'd be willing to pick up items and ship them for a few folks if need be. I'd expect them to cover the expenses though.

I thought Limited Edition, Limited Run etc meant they would never create any more? So it's just false advertisement to create demand? Similar to Nintendo and those amebo things that or whatever it is Nintendo isn't producing enough of so people sell them at 500% markup.

Also $25 for a single model is too rich for my taste. It's a problem of item costs to much and isn't available so recasters sees an opportunity to make a little bit of money.
You can't claim original is always better quality or whatever since recasters in my experience makes models of better quality than originals since they don't want people to do chargebacks and such.

I've been following the recast market for years and at first it was just a few FW items, now it's whole GW kits and 99% of the FW lineup, after this came a few KD limited edition models here and there, now it's the entire KD model range including everything that was limited edition. Raging Heroes models are now popping up here and there.

I've never seen Gundam recasts or other chinese or japanese models as recasts, I'm sure they exist but I have never seen any.

Recasters are becoming a huge problem and will always be a problem for things that are too expensive. Mantic models will never get recast because they are priced appropriately. It's no longer worth buying anything second hand either as it's probably recast stuff you are getting, heck I see stores claming to sell KD originals, FW, GW etc etc etc at discounts every week yet I don't believe for a second that they are original kits as claimed.

People who can afford it will buy original kits from the creator, once that is sold out and people who can't afford them will get them from other sources. This is how society has always worked and always will work. Someone will always take advantage of someone elses work as long as it is profitable to do so.

Bah, enough of me, don't want to derail this thread.

Limited run means he only casts about 500 or so. The first run comes with a collectors card signed and numbered.

So to answer your question, yes. One could also argue that as a boutique miniature line he can't afford to make a lot of something just to not have it sell. He still has first run male and female apotheosis's in his shop I believe.

Ammo slave was just rereleased. Some things are still hard to get hold of even when they reissue. It does get frustrating some times, because unless you watch your email like a hawk(after signing up for it of course) you can wake up at 7am and everything is sold out.

I don't think so - Adam is assembling things into the boxes, which then need to be sent overseas through customs to the various distribution hubs. We're at least a month out.

Are you talking about store orders or the kickstarter? I was talking about the store.

Kickstarter, of course. Sorry for the confusion.

This is correct. The "Limited Edition" comes with a signed card of authenticity, but after that, more copies will be available eventually. The ONLY figure that is truly limited is the #1 Ed of the Forsaker, simply because it was too hard to cast properly. This is the only figure Adam has said will never be released again.

There are also certain other things which can be considered truly limited. Such as some of the items contained in the Black Friday Grab Bags which I was, very unfortunately, too late to procure.

That's the obligatory sacrificial lamb meat in there.

Your not supposed to show it, now everyone's going to feel cheated that they didn't get any on them as well...

100 years from now a scientist will break into the museum where the box will be held in state and steal it to reverse engineer the genetic material on the box. Time and again the scientist will fail and abhorrent creatures covered in genitalia will be released into the world creating havoc. Later once finally successful it will be determined that it's not the great Adam Poots that was resurrected, but some unknown postal worker. News will spread far and wide in a short time and society will collapse upon itself in a rage and the creatures that were previously released will hunt down the survivors. So in some ways YOU have created the future.....Thanks for the Penis Dogs

From the other thread:

Looks like it's split shipping with the expansions shipping later

Creator Kingdom Death about 1 hour ago

Upcoming shipment is everything except expansions. Those are still in print and assembly. Tho the miniature production for them as been finished since feb 2015. I am happy with the factories we worked with, however in the future I can say I'll have a much better idea of what a "factories-timeline" actually looks like. Being that this is my first mass production product (and that its bigger and heavier then any similar game on the market) I shouldn't have taken the initial time estimates at face value. I am of course responsible in the end, I just thought some of you might like to know. No big deal!

It seems it might actually be cheaper to split the orders

Creator Kingdom Death about 1 hour ago

... I honestly wish we could group them. But the box dimension and weight of a typical order took it to FREIGHT class shipping! hahahaha Its just not possible!
