I would like to scratch build a warlord titan. Since this is a VERY big task I would like to take a shortcut or two. To do the "castle" on its back I would like to find an existing model. Preferably it should be plastic and hollow to make it lite, durable, and easier t work with.

Does GW make any terrain like this? I am unfamiliar with the Fantasy range. possibly something 40K related I don't know about?

Hi Cuda,

Are you building a Warlord or going for the "Imperator" Emperor Class ?

If it's a Warlord, they don't actually have a Cathedral - it's the Imperator that has a cathedral, dome, a tower with a defence laser, and four other towers with turrets.

Armorcast used to produce a resin Cathedral that would probably be good for a Imperator - pretty rare now though - otherwise there's Forgeworld ($$$!!!) or a seller on ebay called lord cliff  (underlined and in lower case) who specialises in cathedral scenery, towers, etc - he's gotr some stuff that would probably be great.

Hope this helps.

I like the idea of an Emperator class titan, but I have no where to put a 5 foot tall model. Plus, I would actually like to play a mega battle with one at some point. So I thought about a compromise. I will make the Titan the size of a Warlord, but make it look similar to an Emporator.

Or find a guy like me, who has lots of Hirst Arts molds, to hook you up with some bricks.

I think the Cities of Death sprues will work better for you. A Cathedral on top of a titan is going to be pretty ornate and baroque, which fits the COD buildings.

Not to shoot my own plan in the foot, but one thing to think about with HA bricks is weight.  The dental plaster is a lot heavier than plaster of paris, so you'd need pretty strong support on the rest of the model.  Plus, it might chip when (not if) it falls over.

Well, this thing is going to be heavy no matter what you do, the trick is not to make it too top heavy. The COD buildings are quite heavy as well (just not so much as dental plaster).

If you go to www.siegeworld.com , and dig through their gaming modules, you'll find there a listing for what's called a "WatchTower" Titan.

A WatchTower is basically a Warlord fitted with a cathedral, similar in style but smaller than an Imperator's, designed to act as a mobile base and pulpit for Imperial preachers.

Might be something to look at - you've got rules already made (and they look okay), you build your Warlord and still get your Cathedral on top...?

does it go around knocking on doors and offering subscriptions to itself?

Do not use the CLEAR dice!

Dear Whiny Space Marine Players,
you get 3+ armor saves on all your troops (save scouts), Assault cannons, a huge assortment of vehicles and weapons, arguably one of the best if not THE best tank in the game, funny helmets, and a partrige in a pear tree.

suck it up, space marines. You're the emperor's chosen superhuman warriors. stop whining like a guardsmen and take it like a superman!

I've got a feeling that's what got cuda geared up to do this in the first place.

AHA!

I wondered what had inspired the "Watchtower"...should have made the connection between it and a Leviathan... and since  of course, that photo on the earlier post came from their site...

In reply to the earlier comment...yes, it does come knocking on doors and offering you salvation...

BUT REFUSAL IS NOT AN OPTION !

Somehow, I don't think a polite, "Sorry, not interested..." would go down well... and as for telling them you're actually a practising satanist...

Elusive71, that is exactly what inspired me to do this. I think I will put two more weapons in the shoulders though, and ditch the chainsword arm for another shooting weapon.
