About the sculpting, I want to buy some of those finger condoms, you know like a surgeon's gloves but just for one finger. So far I've never felt the need to protect my hands from the putty, but with my growing range of different puttys I get more and more worried. That it says irritating on the packaging is normal, but when it says "avoid contact with skin, wash immediately and thoroughly with soap water" it makes me think twice.

To avoid putty sticking to tools there are several ways:
Wait a while until the putty loses some of it's adhesive power.
Use silicone tools.
When using metal tools make sure they are properly polished (you can also apply a layer of silicone release agent over your tools every now and then).
Use spit/water/grease (vaseline is best, but lipbalm works almost as well and is easier to handle/stow away).
Get the better putty. I know some say GS is all you need, and people can sculpt the most fantastic miniature with GS, but there are also guys who can paint with their dicks, it might be a matter of practice, but I prefer using a proper tool for the job. There are so many types of putties, most have distinct properties and are therefore destined for special applications, but some are simply better than the rest. On my current project I've already used six different types of putties to achieve certain effects.
Also you can adjust the composition of your putty. In GS terms and simply put: less green, more blue. Experimenting with the composition and even mixing (of different putties. ever put a hint of fimo in your GS?) is a very worthwhile thing, you can totally tailor the properties to your needs, once you know the material.

say baiyuan...what does fimo do to the mix of GS? how is the cring time altered and what other characteristics might this mix have? sounds very interesting... also i have plenty of fimo still lying around with no actual use but less and less GS and specifically the yellow stuff of that... so i think this could slove two out of my many problems...thanks mate in advance!

I'm afraid that it won't solve your problem with the lack of GS:
You know that Fimo needs to be baked to fully cure. So it retards the curing a bit, but you can't put much into the mix, otherwise it won't cure at all. So to a macadamia sized ball of evenly mixed GS you can add less than a pea's volume of Fimo.
You know it's very soft and can be shaped muuuch easier than GS and the likes. And that's the main advantages it brings into the mix, easier shaping and finer details. If you add to much, it will negatively influence the resistibility of the fully cured product.

So just buy some more putty and don't buy it from GW. Galeforce 9 is about 30% of the price. My recommendation would be Procreate though, I've recently fallen in love with it. Superior to any other putty I've worked with.

actually i use atm the galefore 9 GS... only ever tried a bit of the GW stuff...awful as hell...

hmmm your description sounds a bit as if i would just dilute the GS... seems a worthwhile experiment but needs the proper job it seems....

I have Apoxie Sculpt, and it is advisable to wear rubber gloves, only to keep your fingers from getting color all over them and anything else you touch the rest of the day. I got the green Apoxie Sculpt, and quite a few of my sculpting tools are now green...Not sure if I can get it off.

Magic Sculp seems similar to Apoxie sculpt at first, but just a light film of vasaline on your fingers makes that a non-issue, thanks Ishkatar! Also, I got the light gray colored Magic Sculp, so I'm not leaving fingerprints all over everything.

You have sculpting material that says "avoid skin contact"?

I do use the silicone color shapers, and Magic Sculp will stick to those a bit, but not too bad.

I'm hoping for a productive weekend...but I have had those hopes before and sometimes they don't pan out. We'll see.
