Tomb Blades are done. This officially finishes my 2014 Adepticon army.

They look really nice, and although te all have the same paint scheme, because of te stippling/ tarnish effect you do it gives each one a nice bit of individuality.

And when is Adepticon? Early April? Seems you managed to finish with about a month or so to spare, so congratulations on getting done early and avoiding all the frantic panic and burnout on the laed-up to Adepticon

Unless of coure you still have to do a display board In that xase, get cracking

I still have one "team task" to complete, but this signals the completion of my army. (Yes, early April.)

It's nice not to be painting and panicking up until the last minute. I hope it will signal a more relaxed and enjoyable Adepticon experience.

I'll try and get a pic of the whole army up later on today.


@mt - keep in mind I still have 3 more of these bikes to finish up... I just don't need them for Adepticon.

After looking at my list I realize that I have to paint up one more bike and invent a single particle caster... whatever the hell that is. So I'm not QUITE done yet.

In 40K space, there is no such thing as a finished army!!

Well, Thing 1 and I had a father/son gaming day yesterday. All day event. 1750 point tourney where we played an ork/necron airforce list, lunch at a great local diner, more gaming (last two rounds) and then dinner with the local gamers at a restaurant across the street. The local scene here is extremely competitive. I think nearly half the field was Eldar, Tau or some combination of the two. Necrons and Chaos made up most of the rest. We went 1:1:1. Beat eldar, lost to chaos, tied eldar (though we would have won if I'd listened to Thing 1 on our last turn). Had a really great day gaming and hanging out together.

The boy is now inspired to work on his own figures again & is feverishly cutting and cleaning an entire Ark worth of bits. I promised to help him build it & paint it. But it is really nice to see him have some interest in his army again. It's been a long time.

No pics of the battles unfortunately, we just went to have fun.

It is great to hear about these tales. It just gets me excited in the hope that i can "pursaude" my son to head this way. (he is only 3 1/2 so a little early yet) You are a great Inspiration Gitz.

My own things just like to collect and brag about it to their friends. No patience for painting or modelling. Computers have spoiled them completely, so I really envy you sir, glad you had a good day, and would love to see Thing 1 's work here on Dakka, Does it have it's own thread?

@Cam: This *was* his thread... at least the thread where I featured his work which was primarily on his space marines. He hasn't been all that interested in painting or playing for a while though (though he does like his Necrons). Hi is wanting to learn how to use the airbrush so I'll have to teach him so he can paint his own Necrons.

That was the wrong kind of particle caster. I needed the kind a wraith carries (pistol).
