oh and wild, as far as obsidian armour goes, its plate, doesnt slow you down as an archer but it still gives you the same level of protection because of the magical properties of the armour

You begin to hear the howling of helldogs outside the fortress, you climb the wallt o have a look, and what you see shocks you, dozens of packs of wolfs, some significantly larger than the others (wolf size not pack size) are roaming the plains, all of them are blood red and seem to run slightly abouve the ground rather than on it.

The town is a ruin, houses have burned to the ground and the wall itself is on fire, even though it is made of stone and iron.

many of the combatants on your side are dead, half a dozen Ataani are lying dead in the streets and just under 3 dozen civilians and children

"Those filthy bloody..." he dissapears behind a bookshelf and you hear a bit of clattering and a curse then he comes back into view holding a very very very powerful looking crossbow, its multicurved iron arms are held well forwards of the stock and you watch him twist a small lever once fully round which through some kind of mechanical trickery pulls the cordage all the way back and snaps it into place. he puts a strange looking cage made of wire, its thin and tall, about a foot high and 2 inches wide.ontop of the crossbow, inside it are dozens of bolts for the weapon, all are glowing with a strange white hue.

"I think its time i came out of the library, and my memory isnt as good as it used to be but im sure i mentioned neither of those things... but your right, there will be some kind of leader to the packs, and capturing one of them would be extremely useful... We should go to the walls, and get Aurella kitted up, everyone needs to be hands on deck,"

you turn to Aurella to see her strapping wrist crossbows to her arms and a pair of curved long knives to her back, she dons a strange black garment that absorbs light and when you touch it it seems to be as hard as steel but as soft as fabric.

She looks at you with a smile, "Its a robe made from the woven hairs of a Unicorn that was killed by my ancestors many hundreds of years ago, the hair turns black when a unicorn is killed in cold blood."

i know the story of the nezotec unicorn rites aurella. but i never expected them to be used at date. aurella we need to stayclose you know what happens else. maybe we can do the little dances our ancestors did. i wink to her.

she looks confused at me."you arent thinking about the dances of love and death right?"

The party has just escaped from the Third temple with the artifact helm,

The assassins are in the city of Phobos seking refuge from Daemons

Mordoskull has engaged the Federation army on the east coast

and the Ataani and the warrior have survived an attack from a warlock and his pet Daemons, although the town they were defending was ruined

I look in my spell book, searching for any clues on how I might be able to stop these shadow coaches compleatley.
While I do this, Orac takes the lead, and we move towards the forth and final temple, wondering what we will have to face there...

you look back and one of the shadow creatures is straining to free itslef from the temple but it cant manage it

I look at the shadow creature, trying to assatain what it is. I assume, from the fact that it can't follow us, that it is somehow bound to the temple. Prehaps, I think to my self, we could bind one of the shodow coaches to something, and stop it from leaving.
Me and Darath begin to prepare the binding spell, after deciding to bind it to a small crystal ball which I found resting in the bottom of my bag.
The crystal was formed by master elven craftsmen, and designed to be a container for spirits and ghosts. It was given to me by the head seer in my town temple, as a present, on my 14th birthday. He told me it would bring me luck, sometime in my future, I assume that time is now...

at the usual time the ghostly coaches appear, but this time something is differant they look somehow more

one of them stops directly before you and a strangely shaped figure steps out, it appears to be human but the proportions are all wrong, long arms and fingers and short legs.

it raises one of its unnaturally long fingers and points to Ranun, who has the gloves and is still holding the helm, and then to Orac who has the chestpiece. then it dissapears, along with the carriages, you cast your binding spell but its to late

We camp for the night, and then continue on our way towards the final temple.
We think that the presence of the artifacts allows the shadows into the real world.
We re-distribute the artifacts between our party, I take the gloves, Rarun takes the Helm and Orac takes the breast plate.
We aproach the temple ready to see what we will face...

ok lunier i think its best if we go. We will let proto and lotus here as help for the defence of the city

So, with the town in ruins, we'll bury the dead with as much of the proper fanfare as warranted; and capable given the destruction of the city.

Also expect that the people will travel somewhere else, I suppose that we'll travel with them for a time...??
