^good on ya, got alot of family in/or was in military (airforce and army mostly), one of my cousins is going for his 3rd tour i think, after collage and is going to stay with the army for his carrer, my plan was to go to the military, untill of course my mind changed to film..

i gathered as much that they would be open to public as all those explaining placards in front of the tanks hinted that...or americans have some weird sense of vehicle depots^^
and yep...those flame thrower tanks were pretty brutal...but that is trnch warfare...it always is nasty as hell...and as everybody did it so why dont yours too^^

OK, been a while but I am ready to start showing some things....
THis isn't the full update that is coming Friday but I hope you guys will like it.....
If you haven't unsubbed by now....
LOL....
Ok starting with the Legio (as opposed to the Adeptus) Custodes....
The main idea is to incorporate as much of the PHH iconography as I can without going into plastic shock. The Custodes are some of the most heavily adorned SM's out there....
My Ideas:
Kinda crappy drawing but want I wanted was to have that over the top kinda detail on the carapace and have it blend with the detail on the one shinguard. I am gonna leave one shin guard blank though for contrast...
The shin guard on this one would have an Iron cross with a large Custodes aquila behind it. The head of the aquila would be sticking out the front top edge of the shin guard for a sense of 3D depth....
THe plans are based around this aquila^
The PHH 1K Sons have very limited iconography that I can find. If anyone has any images please share. For now I am working on this:
I like the way these look but am also considering reversing where the images are. IE... the small round Scarab on the shin guard and the winged one on the carapace instead. I would like your thoughts on this guys.
I am also looking at these images as potentials instead:
Again, I would like your thoughts on these as well, but it may well boil down to what I can actually physically do. Some of the images are very in depth and I don't think my Cricut can do them. I may have to do it the old fashioned way like I did on the Reavers.......
THe plans for the Iron Warriors is gonna be up Friday as well as a butt load of other photos and progress reports. I am gonna have some tutorial stuff to put up Sunday or Monday.....
I am beginning to think that I may never be on time with my updates for this project....

the designs all look good...but i am totally with you one the physically possible issue... much of the PHH details look fiddly beyond anything i could hope to do... maybe you would be able to do that...depends of course how big the actual individual detail would be...if it is monotorsized like i see them then i still think you might want to do either a simpler form of these (that would be sad as i think they all look very good!) or change the methode? maybe GS? i bet there is a whole lot more being possible by this...
one thing tho... i am still in most regards a noob for the style of 40k...but the big scarab of the first PHH 1k sons reminds me strongly to tau design...maybe it is due to the shape of the scarab...

Knights, Rawson? these are for warhounds. but, yes a knight could be chapter specific just like a dreadnaught or termie armour.
Vik, yes what you see on the monitor is a scan of actual size. I think that one thing I want to try is a thick.self adhesive vinyl sheet cut with the cricut. the image needs a little cleanup beforebthe cricut can do it but not much. the wide winged one would be layered too so that is another hurdle to overcome but I think it can work....
I also thought of GS but I just ain't that good with it yet.....

Wouldn't it be easier to switch them? The horizontal wings would be really hard to get right on the shin guards, I think.
