As many people use Skype for personal stuff and may not want to give out their Skype names as freely as others, I'll have a look at setting up a TeamSpeak server. Those of you who don't want to talk can still join and just listen or type etc. If you want to download it in any case, it's here: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads.

I'll also probably stop the FTB Unleashed server just for the duration of the event, so as to reduce any disk or cpu activity from that server affecting the Dakka Minecraft server. (There's not many people playing on FTB Unleashed at the moment anyway). I'll pre-emptively up the Dakka Minecraft slots to 25, just in-case, but can go higher if we do get that many people and aren't suffering too much lag.

I'll stop by the End and make sure there's a safe Endstone path to the main island from the spawn point that Storm Lord mentioned. I'll also throw down some beds around the End portal (if not already there) so people can re-spawn right there if they die. If we can keep everyone together either in the End or just at the End portal in the overworld, it will help to reduce the amount of chunks loaded by the server.

I will probably not participate in the actual fight, but will fly around recording. I'm leaning towards a Twitch livestream, but might fall back on just recording for Youtube if there are issues.

In that case, if a teamspeak session is set up I'll use that.

I might join TeamSpeak to give encouraging speeches/verbally abuse you all.

AFAIK Skype is limited to 5 people in a call group, so of limited use in a 15-person raid. =)

Thanks to Darkinnit for offering a TS server, that will be a huge help I think.

Skype definitely allows more than 5 people in free voice calls; being in a call larger than 5 people has taught me that.

No idea if there is a max/what the max is.

EDIT: From the Skype website: "Yes. Any group call can have the host plus up to 25 participants, and these can be either people using Skype or calling in on a mobile or landline. However, if you are using a version of Skype for Windows desktop older than 3.8, you can only host up to 4 participants."

Well folks the time draws near. I won't be on teamspeak/skype sadly as I'm full of cold so would be largely unintelligible (plus my laptop probably can't handle two memory intensive programs at once ) so I'll have to say anything that needs saying via text on Minecraft
