@Dr. H, yes, that's the corrugated cardboard I had talked about way back when . I got it from an art store here. Got a 2'x4' piece for around a dollar. Forgot about it till I looked for something else yesterday and saw it.

Not a heck of a lot today. Thinking what I could do with my kids, why not take them to the park to play? Well my kids were still sleeping, so why not bring the park to them in 28mm scale.


I've got to get some PVC pipe at h hardware store to make a slide. Also need to knock out a monkey bar set, and a fire mans pole, possibly a tetherball post, basketball court anything else I should make? A sandbox will be easy (and just gave me an idea, very necromundy).

Had to flesh out the idea I had with my previous post. Unfortunately I don't know where my jar of sand is, guess I'll take the kids to a real park today and grab a handful. So you guys will have to see the sandbox without sand in it.

The chopped up body I an old space wolf scout. I'll cover it mostly with sand, add some blood red, and we have a necromunda body dump

Also in the picture do you guys think I should use the bb or the marble as a ball left in the playground?

Nice. Again, you have pulled out some ideas and made them reality. Park things are looking good.

I'd say the marble looks a little too large for the scale.
Batting cage sounds good and mini-golf will be epic (do it ). Also, thinking about the local rec/park here (where they got rid of the huge slide), how about a half-pipe thing for skateboards? But also build a slide, that will also be cool.

I don know much about skateboarding, but my neighbor when I was a kid in the eighties had a half pipe in his back yard. While I never broke a bone on it(though I felt like I had), I had some nasty bruises the few times I tried it. Guess I could start with bulkheads for the elevated parts, and make some curves for the others areas. I might have to do some research.

I always wanted. Build a mini gol course in my back yard, guess ill make one n the basement instead . Tiny windmill and castles here we come.

Yeah, I know very little about skateboarding. I don't think I even progressed to standing on a board in the few occasions I tried as a child. Rollerskates, yes. Skateboard, no. Although I was more of a bike user, could go faster on one of those.

Look forward to the mini-golf. At least we won't have to wait long at the pace you seem to be going recently...

Can I recommend the sand from those sand art things over playground sand? The scale is quite noticeable. Often the sand art sand is in funky colors, but if you look in the floral section of Michael's craft store, you can find bags of sand, cork chunks, and other useful terrain supplies on the cheap there. ..and in more realistic scale colors. It can of course be painted too.

Playground is an amazing idea, those sprung animal ride-ons are classic

Mini Golf I want to see the Windmill in there some where and sphinx maybe the sphinx could have a servo skull instead

@LDD, thought about making the backboards out of clear plastic and breaking one,but since my board is going to be snicker area of the hive, kind of like a pre fall of the imperium, thought maybe they had kept it in decent shape. Plus servo skulls would never leave broken stuff around. Might make one with rivets, welds, or broken bits. Being necromunda I guess I should at least drill bullet holes in one of them.

As for MINIGOLF, still thinking of ideas. Maybe a giant cog for one of the displays. A marine statue for another. An Imperial guard, or the lasgun with helmet fallen guardsman, dead xeno scum. Maybe creatures of the imperium. I have a few spiders, so maybe a necromunda sump spider. Open to other suggestions as well. One idea I had was to make a pre heresy play park with 18 holes,one for each primarch(of the 18/19 known), or go for 21 (each primarch gets his own, except alpha legion gets two on one) and the Big E gets the final one where if you score you get a prize

Not much done yesterday, had an okay time at MINIGOLF, my son had a meltdown so we only played 16 holes plus the win a "free ____" hole because it was hot and no shade around. My oldest hit the bullseye on the last hole and won a free Ted Drews custard, so we all went for ice cream after.

Also my brother and sister in law had their first child, a beautiful healthy girl. My wife and I have it planned to go visit them in October, they live in New York City, and we'll site see at that time and give them a night out.

The grey pipes are from a kit I bought 20+ years ago, and I wish I had more of it. I've used bits everywhere, I'm not even sure what scale it is and no marks on the sprue to let me know the manufacturer. It's from model trains, all sorts of pipes and flanges . I'd love to be able to make the whole jungle gym out of it, but alas no. I'll stop by the model shop this week and see if they have anything similar, otherwise the gymset will be slightly different.

I'm pretty sure it's much smaller, I'll take a pic of the spruces later as I'm getting ready for church right now, the steps on the set are tiny.

Only had a bit of time, and the joints are small, so needed to rig up a way to hold the parts together till the glue dries. But here's the start of the next piece.

There were two of this sprue. The center shows sets of ladders, I'll probably use he as vents or something, only big enough for the big toe o a marine.

Liking the monkey-bars and the start of the swings.

That's some nice rounded sprue there that would also be useful for pipes or scaffolding once the actual model bits have been used.

I am not a 100% sure but I think I have seen a set of these in a toy railway shop not far from me, the only difference is it was a different colour sprue I think.

I might have a drive down next weekend and take a look, now I have to think up an excuse to go pass the shop
