Sorry guys... I am alive and the WIP is still rolling

I've had heaps of problems this last couple of weeks...

- Too much 'required' overtime at work

- Problems with my camera, it has issues with closeups

- My partner has been off work sick

- If you watch Australian news headlines, where I am has been under severe thunder storms for over three weeks now... we have flooded twice and all my stuff has been moved around... and my space has been occupied with wet stuff drying

So, sorry again for no update... but definately still on

A couple of good things though... I've got my paints and spray guns... and 2x Realm battleboards.

I'm also revamping my table... It got dammaged in the flooding... 4 inches of flowing river over the basement floor!!!

I WILL post as soon as I have anything ready

Sorry to hear about the hardship you, and the other people in Australia are experiencing, hope everything clears up soon. Hope nothing got seriously damaged in the flooding. Luckily unpainted models just need to dry!

That is more figs than i have ever seen. EVER. I will admit that I quite jealous of you for that. But at the same time I feel sorry for you because unless you have a factory of people willing to work for free, you will spend almost a year painting all that.

I know I'm performing threadomancy, but I was just wondering if you've made any progress yet? I, like many others, relished updates to this inspirational thread and would love to see how you're getting on....

Is it just me, or does looking at all the sheer amount of that army makes you also want to buy more ><

Just a quick one...

The old table consisted of a beat up table tennis table with bat wing legs where you could fold half up for 'play back' games.

I got 3 off 8' x 4' half inch ply boards and cut them down to 6' x 4', then I edged them similar to the TT table.

The 2 end boards had edging along 3 sides and slid over the edge of the TT table, the middle board had edging along 2 sides and joined the 2 ends together as a 12' x 6' top board.

The new table is the same size (12' x 6'), however, is alot stronger and more importantly... level

And more...

Using a number of 2' x 2' MDF tiles as the building base for CoD or other terrain...


And using two sets of Realm of Battle Gameboards

Arrangement 1:RoB down both sides - River / roadway / pipeline setup


Arrangement 2: Rob at one end - City / fortress


Arrangement 3: RoB encircling - Outpost / mission objective


And many more arrangements are possible - I have 12 tiles of RoB and 18 MDF tiles (at the moment).

Table wise... I have a design plan to add an edge around the table to create a lip that holds the tiles in place.

Dude, that is amazing! You're living the dream.

You must tell me one thing though, how are you able to get all this stuff and keep your partner from leaving you? My wife barely puts up with my two games cases of Nids and I've had a ban on a games table imposed on me until we move to a bigger house (which will be never on my salary ).

Wannabe Writer, if you read the thread, he's answered this question many times. Apparently his missus is just super understanding and actively encouraging. He wins.

Castellan, please keep the updates coming. This is the most inspiring thread on Dakka and you've managed to get a lot of people hooked. We're all in for the long haul!

Highlights of what I saw....6 baneblade boxes, 3 basilisks, 10 dreads, battle company of Black Reach marines, and a helluva lot more.

That Table is Ghakkin HUGE. I can actually see a problem with reaching minis in the center you might have to pull out one of those military strategist sticks and a monocle to reach them.
