The pen was the only thing i could come up with that was beefy enough for this monster. I originally had a leman russ turret on there as a hammer but that was too over the top. I am going to end up painting it to make it look more like a shaft instead of a pen.

Just realized there's an old DP model in the background there.. me want! The new model is just so..ugh.. If only the old one wasn't stooping over, I would love it even more. The model just looks far smaller than it should compared to if it was sculpted standing up to its full height..hmm../conversion idea (that'll never get done.. ).

Can I put those new DP wings on the old metal model? (it's not oop, they still sell it). I got my metal DP a couple months ago and I just don't even want to paint it. It's too hard to hold without rubbing paint off.

If you're prepared to cut parts off one of the most notoriously fragile models they've ever produced, then yes, you can.
Either way, if you buy the new DP kit, you'll have TWO daemonprinces, which is double the fun! Especially if you play Zureal13 rules.. but that's another story. ( Str 9 on the charge, W5, T6, FnP DPs ftw! )

I hate the way the old DP was put together, but god it looked good
I already have a house rule that grants FNP to my Daemon princes, as well as multiple mark princes (for like 150 points he gains +1 S,T,I and a 3+ invul).
Loads of fun!

Personally, I think all the dread conversions out there with extended legs look silly. But kudos to you for spending the time converting it anyway.

I agree with you that the walking behemoth style isn't my cup of tea, I think it has to do with the basic template of how the leg assembles together, as currently constructed any of them with the stock legs without anything extended look like they are waddling, where as you check out some of the youtubes of the DoW stuff they move pretty fluid.
I think it has more to do with how the actual design of the Dreadnought is, you have a massively over powering chest and shoulder area, a ballerina style waist, the thighs aren't too bad width wise but incredibly short, then they get large with the shin pads again. Its effectively a pillbox on midget legs, to get any semblance of movement out of them you need to add about a 1/4 of an inch (anything more is probably pushing it) to the thigh area and somehow figure out how to put enough meat around it to keep with the steampunk style legs. In the end as long as the end user is cool with it, thats all that really matters.
That being said there are some pretty kick ass looking dreds posted here and I hope they keep coming.
