Minis are getting better and better and so is the painting and product presentation... nothing beats a good miniature well painted on a well modelled background. Good job.

Where's the Elf?

Love all these so far, just need to get through some of my pile of plastic, metal and resin before I order some.

High Elves are my main army, so seeign that may just break my resolve though...

I need to take the time to look at the FW site to find out the size of the Gargantuan Squiggoth. If this is close enough, I can get double-use out of him (D&D and 40K). The damn thing's so good looking that my 40K group would surely forgive the lack of a howdah! LOL

Worst case scenario, I guess I'll have to just use him as a (really) big Squiggoth.

Size wise I'd say he's closer to the smaller squiggoth than the gargantuan one.

He's a little bigger & bulkier than a GW Stegadon for example. His max height and length are in the first colour pic above.

Another great release Maelstrom, you continue to impress----even though I don't play Fantasy I'm considering buying one just to paint it! Keep up the great work.


FYI send kudos to your presentation guy. Nicely painted miniature, nicely photographed with good background---overall just a great impression of professionalism.

That Terrask is beautiful. I'm loving the anatomy/positioning/musculature of the legs. It's almost a textbook demonstration of how to convey motion/energy in a model without needing it to be flailing all over the place.

Nice but too small-should be around 200mm high and 280 long (based on 40mm being about 10 ft and the d&d description).

Maybe he wanted it to be smaller so it wasn't completely out of the ballpark for what most people are willing to pay for a model.

B) Not necessarily a D&D Tarrasque; it's based off it but they haven't given any inclination that it has anything to do with the D&D Tarrasque other than a similar name and look.
C) More ready to incorporate into WFB games because it seems to fit on one of the big chariot bases.

Pretty much. This is our Tarask, It's how we want it to look, and is the size we want and need it to be. A foot long Tarrasque would cost way over a £100 probably closer to £200. Our Tarask retails at £49.99 and we sell it at a 10% discount and free shipping = £44.99 a much easier to swallow price point. Not to mention issues with box sizes, larger moulds, sculpting costs, actually finding a sculptor with the will and time to sculpt a beast that large with the time free in their busy timetables etc.

Anyways, simple answer is - it's this big (and it's still big!) because that's how we big we wanted to make it. It isn't a D&D Tarrasque - it's a BaneLegions Tarask. :8


Also, for a rider or chariot type conversion, the armoured back carapace is one seperate piece that is removable and is fully detailed underneath like the rest of the warty reptilian skin. So fitting a rider(s)/howdah is entirely possible. Should you wish.
