Played Tau, managed to get a BatRep in most weeks, didn't seem to move things much though.

Still, fun to have an excuse to go out and play more.

Maybe the results should be scaled to compinsate for the amount of players?

Trying to scale the results on a fluctuating player base wouldn't be something i would want to try on the fly.

Modding these things takes an inordinate amount of time as it is

I think that will be the challenge finding simple solutions so the load on mods is less

BFG locations could save some headaches. A simple alternative would be to have games in space allow a generic bonus to 40k games.

Something simple like starting each world at 50% control like 40k but simplifying the swing to say +5% or -5% control per win and if one side or the other gains 75% control (25% for non Imperial or 75% for Imperial) then 40k battles have a 1.5X modifier for that side and if it reaches say 90% then there would be a 2X modifier.

I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

I was trying to step away from the x mods for battles/worlds/etc with my draft. They have a habit of complicating things, and can lead to some disproportionate results.

There might be something in the idea for BFG battles handing a generic effect to the 40k results though.

Personally i think i prefer just having a seperate battlefield for the BFG fights, but we'll see..

Interesting I like the the static win percentage for BFG idea +5% control per win
that would be easy for the mods and it would remove the influence of the great fluxuations in VP that occur in BFG quite often just because the ships was wrecked rather than exploded which the player has no effect on.

I like the idea you had, ascalam, about the one system with many planets. All those separate planets and star systems made me feel the battles where spread thin, and no one would come to help a doomed planet unless it hit zero.

at the beginning I was the only one sending battle reports on Lamaro. I had a HUGE loseing streak that didn't help at all, and no one came to help except when it hit 0%

If we had open reinforcements, then I think it could help solve the problem of other people quitting the campaign.

I favor the single system model as well. It would also be far more adept at concentrating battles allowing people to feel more connected to the war i believe.

I favour single system, too. More people to help me when I get dedicated (i.e. addicted) to controlling 1 planet

Agreed, I think we were a bit too spread out in this campaign. Good thing it's a learning process, right?

We have to start somewhere. I do think letting in new players might help with the attrition we suffered.

Another vote for single systems!

Single System sounds good.
Maybe a minimum change per win will help those who can't field large armies, or are just starting out make some kind of difference

Imperium won, which is no surprise given that they outnumbered and outcodexed Disorder 2:1

Still an awesome brawl though

Not quite true seeing as Order had 181 (y'know with eldar) and Disorder-110 and Other had 80 something. Seeing as any win by the other two hurt the Imperium it wasn't really 2:1.

And I like the idea of 1 system, 7-8 planets/areas. Maybe a space hulk or two floating about.

*Shrug*

Outcodexed then Disorder had 4, (7 if you add in the Other forces but they were a seperate faction, so i don't )

There is a hulk of a Craftworld bobbing about. I could add another hulk in there as a dynamic though, popping up partway through the campaign.

Warning From Magnus? Not Listening!

I really enjoyed the campaign. I wasn't able to submit any battles, as I found out that there are no places to play near my college. But I loved reading the story lines and following what happened.
At the chance of being repetitive, I agree with the one system idea. I'd prefer something like 12 planets. I also have to say that sometimes I felt disjointed from what was going on. I dont have any suggestions, but some way to help connect the players to whats going on would really bring people in and drive them to do more.
A big thank you to all the top generals who organized and ran this.

Next campaign it'd probably be fairer if it was just Imperials vs Non-Imperials.

I found Vassal was a great way for me to get games in when my own local scene was worst off then dead. My club's games are on Monday / Wednesday nights which are terrible for college students. Friday - Sunday no one ever wanted to play so i found it easier to just do vassal.

However, more RPG-ish elements for in character stories and updates would be welcome too.
