Thanks guys. Yeah, it's crazy big. I'm dithering between obsidian and brass overall. Or, possibly, dark metal, brass chains etc, lumps of obsidian. Not sure, and I still don't know how I'm going to work the red in. I'll prime it black and work from there.

You may be able to get some kind of rustoleum spray that coats the head to give it texture like beaten metal... but if you go this direction it better have rivets...and be breathing fire.

Well, there are rivets already can't do this without rivets now can we? I'm not allowed to buy a textured rust spray, it's against my rules to buy any bits especially for this, having bought a child's toy to desecrate for the project. I'll allow myself primer, but that's it. I am a masochist - maybe I shoulda gone for slaanesh instead...

@ Onemannoodles, thanks mate, and I'm really looking forward to seeing yours finished as it my favorite so far, so I wouldn't give up if I were you .
As for the candles, their made from small lengths of modeling putty (or you could use green stuff) with a tiny piece of wire set into the top for the wick,
then I Painted all the extra wax on afterwards using a mix of very thick paint, and a very small brush.

Wow guys, awesome work. I'm struggling to pick a favourite of the entries thus far... So many great ideas and the execution is just fantastic.
I'm going to take a crack at getting something done this weekend, as after that I'll be back in Poland on business and may not be able to meet the deadline, even if it gets extended.
For those procastinators like myself, get your finger out and do some work, we need more entries

The SM has a mauled right arm that you can't see, and will get aforementioned tester head. The pit is a separate piece but fits on the four centre squares of the base securely.

Here you go, I finally made a start - although I'm going with a simpler build than the original idea - a stone circle which can be used in many type of wargames as it's pretty generic - i.e. not going to have any specific iconography on it...
