Not blown away by the Warlocks as I was the Reapers, and happy with the current finecast Farseer and Warlocks kit.

But I'm not saying its a hard pass, as I love Warlocks and these are still nice Eldar models all the same.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

I wonder if the Autarch parts will fit with this kit easily as well? A lot of the Eldar have been designed in plastic alongside each other.

It could be very much like the Deamonettes of Slaanesh in that many of them can easily swap parts. Deamonettes can swap pretty much any part with any part between their kits (even the fiends can be swapped between the chariots and the riders if you want - though the chariots do have armoured bellies and the regular un armoured).

If that's the case for Eldar then one kit not having as many options might not be an issue as you'll be able to bring in bits from other kits easily.

only thing I am disappointed in is one of each weapons. I wish they had 2 of each weapon so that you can give them the same weapon.

I'm assuming, boldly that the folk looking at these may already have all the Jetbike warlocks/farseers and foot Farseers they want so I suppose some of the hope is you use spares from those kits to supplement the footlocks...

Nothing too special there, missed opportunity to make a seer council set of 4 warlocks (with a female option) and maybe add a new weapon or two.

They're solid minis, but a little anticlimactic after the 30-year wait for new sculpts.

Aside from the wrist runes, they don't really 'pop' compared to the old metals. They're... fine as they are, but the lack of diversity in the kit is more limiting than it needs to be.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Yeah, female warlocks would definitely been welcome. I guess we can pretend the helmeted one are such, though the body is rather masculine.

Jeebus...what is with the top knots? Could a more ridiculous hairstyle exist????? What is up with GW constantly throwing those around a ton of armies....White Scars, Space Wolves, Orks, Chaos.....aren't there Tau with top knots? I will be very surprised if any new models for Guard do not have top knots.

They look awful and silly. It will be bad enough finding alternative heads for the Reapers and Avatar. Hopefully Guardian heads will fit on the warlocks.

Why is everything standing on something? Terrain should be separate from the models. And that hair flying forward looks really stupid. What were they thinking? The cloaks also look pretty plain, they could have put some detail on them.

Overall, this eldar release has been very disappointing. They haven't hit one out of the park on any of these kits. They all range from pretty much what you'd except to kinda dumb looking.

You can get a reasonable number of "different" Warlocks from these, but I'll concede they're not massively different.

For each body, you've got:
- Pistol or open hand
- Bare head or helmet (which may potentially be Bare Head A or Bare Head B or Helmet A or Helmet B)

Even assuming each sculpt has one bare head and one helmet, that's four combinations per body. Double that if all four heads work on either body.

One thing that isn't clear is if the weapons work for each body - if they do, you've just doubled the numbers again.

I'll concede they won't be very distinct, but a potential 16 "different" Warlocks from one kit isn't terrible...

A bit let down by boxes of 2, 3 felt like the sweet spot here, but GW gonna GW and sell us 3 boxes for a max squad at likely same cost as 2 would have been.

Well, they are a dying race and plastic is more rare on a Craftworld than wraithbone apparently which, while it holds detail very well, is unsuitably difficult to remove mold lines with let alone convert.

I think this just goes to prove that aeldari masonry is full of skeletons. Look at that little skull peaking through.

I guess Eldar also like making walls of martyrs.

Also both warlocks have empty pistol holsters, but only one is holding a gun.

They were thinking that people would use that head for the warlock on sky runner, so you can finally tell that he's flying backwards on his bike.

Eldars are cowards and the bikes just help them get out of combat faster

I like them, although I was hoping for a larger squad with more variability - it's a bit disappointing to only get one sword.

Note that the weapons on the skyrunner kit are on the other hand, so kitbashing won't be as easy as it might appear.

Possibly there is scope for more random warlocks later on, in the same way that we have loads of primaris lieutenants.

As an craftworld player I love this release. This is how I would rate them

new exarch 9/10 because of the rock he is standing on, but easy to fix
new rangers 10/10 nothing to complain about
new scroud runners 10/10 I really really love the model
new guardians 10/10
new reapers 8/10 that face is a bit off but rest of the models is excellent
new warlock 9/10 because of only one of each weapons

rest of them I will wait till I see then in unblurred pictures before I make a decision

The previews are very good so far and going forward would like to see a female Farseer and Warlocks. That would be pretty cool.

I was hoping for a seer council box too. Releasing a single character blister in plastic seemed a bad choice, but I never expected a 2 pack. It's a shame they limited the weapon options in the kit. Not a fan of the plumed helmets. I much prefer the older style.

Oh, and why did they paint the feet in black?

I hate to say it, but these new Warlocks aren't as good as the old sculpts, in my opinion.

The detail is great, obviously, and it's nice that they have all necessary options, but the poses are just so uninspired compared to the current finecast kit, and visually speaking, there's so little to separate these guys from regular guardians. I'm thinking of buying into Eldar when the new wave comes out, but if I do, I'm most certainly getting the Farseer and Warlocks kit off ebay instead of this one.

The warlocks are super meh, especially compared to something like the exalted sorcerers kit. The new helmet is too similar to the guardian helmets, and for no good reason. The way the robes are flowing between the two models had me thinking it was the same sprue doubled. Neither of them has the fur cape/cloak thing, and no option for boobs. Swing and miss if you ask me. Jes Goodwins artwork towers over these sculpts.

I think I agree with these ratings, except I would drop the warlocks to an 8 simply because of the limited number of arm options and sameyness of the two bodies. They're still great though, and I definitely approve of the return of the classic mohawk crest. EDIT: At least they're not both jumping off rocks and karate kicking the air, which is something I was slightly afraid they'd do.

So far everything they've shown is something I want to buy and paint, which is a vote of approval in itself.

Warlocks are not going to age very well, they are already looking dated and with 2 poses/clothes which are unnecessarily so similar this is not something you want to paint multiples.

Im no eldar collector but nothing comes close of the new rangers and Im actually tempted to grab some. The rest is ok but not something I would buy.
