My super computer from the future has finally shipped, and my long-awaited return to the hallowed ranks of the PC Gaming Master Race has arrived.

The question is what to play. I think I’ll start with Blood Money, being the last new PC game I bought back in 2008, and then Bioshock Infinite. Then what... I keep looking at the cover for Sins of a Solar Empire and dreaming of vast fleets of ships...

Decisions, decisions.

Try to track down a copy of MechCommander Gold (it has the expansion as well as numerous updates). It was, IMO, a better game than MechCommander 2* and also a lot more challenging. Plus I liked the plot more (Operation Bird Dog/Bulldog during the IS’s war against the Clans rather than the FedCom Civil War that frames MC2).

* To be fair, my experiences with MC2 do stem from the beta, which was a complete game (cut-scenes, missions, everything), but never felt quite “right”. The funniest part of the beta were the “Nuke Ants” (as we called them). An odd bug in the early missions (especially the 2nd or 3rd) caused the Fire Ant light ‘Mechs to detonate whenever they died, usually taking out everything in the surrounding area with them when they did. It made certain missions next to impossible as a careless shot would blast everything in the vicinity to pieces.

Was planning to spend most of the day playing Guild Wars 2 to try out my new computer parts/ however due to a mix up I won't be receiving them until tomorrow. So I'v resorted back to playing Rift and Skyrim as that is all I currently have installed right now.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

Playing Bleed at the moment, it's a great little sidescroller game. Worth FAR more than the five four fifty I paid for it. One of the few games that uses bullet time well-- and is an extremely hard game, but also a very fair one. No bs mechanics, just hard difficulty.

Still no internet connection, so playing through Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance in offline mode. And Star Trek to see if I can make all the commendations I missed the first time.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." I played the demo and really enjoyed it, but never bought it since it doesn't seem to have much replay value.

Tried out Bleed & Cortex Command. Had to realise I've become really really really bad at these kind of games... am now off to lessen my sadness with icecream, will try again later...

In the meantime I work on the CoH2 campaign and tend to my farm in WoW.

Can't get Hitman: Blood Money to work on my new PC. It's very odd.

I have got Bioshock Infinite working. The benchmark thingy said I was getting around 117 FPS average across all areas on the absolute maximum graphical settings. That's pretty awesome. So is the game so far, though I had to quit about 40 mins in as I was feeling dizzy. I guess Total Biscuit was right - I'll need to change the FOV settings!!!

StartCraft II WoL and HoS on the hardest difficulty, finished WoL and working on HoS now.

Console I'm switching between Soul Calibur V and BF3. BF3 is practically done in terms of weapons but I love taking the m60 as a support class and just laying down cover fire for days.

My brother and I love to play TDM on Norshal Canals, both of us using M60's (or PKP's) with extended mags and bipods, and camping on the train tracks. It's cheap as hell, but so entertaining...

Please, please do not let Thief IV turn out to be like Dishonored. Game's all good, but I don't want to be a super-human after the very first mission.

I picked up Wargame: AirLand Battle on a whim, and I'm very glad I did. Amazingly fun little game.

I suck at pretty much everything but a Marine deck, however. In the process of trying to get a special operations deck to work. As I play a lot of 10v10, the "everyone does attrition warfare with tanks in the middle" model has gotten a tad old, just looking to shake it up.

Most games don't have replay value for me. There has been a hell of a lot of sales lately on Xbox Live and I even got this one for 50% off.

Reinstalled The Walking Dead last night. Having only played the first episode I'm looking forward to seeing how the story progresses. ...I'm rather proud of the fact that I've managed not hear any spoilers about it, so you damn well better not ruin this for me Dakka.

Beat Bleed on hard. Feth me that difficulty curve is steep. Felt satisfying to beat The Idiot again, though.

I've taken a look into it through youtube. Not really looking that good. Might play it, might not. Again regarding MC2 If I ever play it again I'm making a PPC/LRM specialist. Late game you get Rooster who has those specials, I put him in a tricked out Blood asp, he devastates. 4 Clan ER PPCs, buncha Heatsinks, 7 LRMs, buncha armor. Even with the Heat sinks taking up so much space it still trashes a Zeus every time.

Just played ~1 hour of TF 2...on the Oculus Rift. It's absolutely-fething amazing. It's...wow! The OR TF2 version is a native version the game runs on, thus not all games might run just as well, but it works pretty damn well. Also played a bit of Doom 3, but only for about 20 min, as I already played it a few months ago.

Reinstalling Morrowind. The music that plays along with the install wizard is enough to set off a full blown nostalgia fest in me.

...Now to sit for the rest of the day trawling mod sites.
