What do you mean "what happened to them"? The UCM skirmish file went up a week or so ago and I uploaded the clash & battle update last night (I wait about a week for bug reports on the skirmish list otherwise those mistakes get copied into the clash & battle lists).
PHR are up next, sorry Shaltari players

Your first battlegroup is 2 pts too expensive (minus commander) since it cannot be over 1/3 of the army. Not really a big deal, tho. Edit: Actually, at 1507 it is just fine but over for 1500.
My gaming group is making reference sheets for our own use, and Dave said he'll eventually make official ones.

Would GW"s new texture paints be good? or should I just use fine sand?
Regular sand works. For my 10mm sci-fi, I used paint texture from the hardware store, it's branded by "Sheetrock" and is essentially ground pummice and is quite inexpensive. The beneifit of it is that it can be glued to a base and then painted and it sucks up wattery paint really easily so you don't have to do so much painting near the figures.
Alternatively, it can be mixed into paint (I have the hardware store mix up housepaint and I use the same color for bases and terrain) and spread on like a paste. It then takes a drybrush quite well Here's a few figs/minis that have this mixture that I call magic mud. You can even spread and shape it a bit to make a nice uneven ground texture.

Well I've got my PHR cards sorted (sample attached below). It took a while though. I tried fitting everything onto one side of a standard card but it just wouldn't go, so I'm going to wrap them around an old card and put them in a clear-backed sleeve. Might save the rulebook a bit of wear and tear!
On the subject of basing infantry, the 2nd attachment is standard GW sand (and GW static grass).

Looks great, Riquende!
Got my replacement part, but wrong one! Already heard back from Dave, he'll replace again and is now using part numbers to avoid mixups.
Scourge haven't shipped from Miniature Market yet, but Dave said they're working to get stock to the US as fast as they possibly can. Sounds like they're trying to catch up with demand, a good thing for the game on the whole.

So there was a new newsletter out earleir this week, have to say I'm surprised it wasn't posted sooner. I think the big bit of new really is that they are now up and running with the new machines and have ordered even more to ensure they can produce enough.
Errata 1.4 is up and it fixes one quite major problem with the starter armies being techincally illegal, all 4 starter armies are now completely legal.
There's also a Rules Clarifications document.

Here a short summary of the distributor situation in Germany:
Dropzone Commander didn't answer trade requests, but I found out that there is an exclusive German distributor: http://www.dropzone-commander.de/
He gets his stuff from a British distributor (seems to be central distributor for Europe). This distributor was not the first to get stuff.
Rulebooks are expected to arrive next week in Germany. Starter sets the week after that, blisters not part of the starter sets the week after that, all other blisters the week after that. If everything now goes according to plans.
Guess it is common knowledge by now that the global delay started with the unexpected demand and the late delivery of two casting machines.

I have returned home from a long trip to open and take a long look at the second set of N scale buildings I bought.
I bought this:
The Tomix Condominium set is an excellent piece well worth the money.
Each storey is a seperate clip together layer with seperate windows and rear stairwell. This means that you can add or subtract storeys with a second set (one more storey is needed to reach the 6" mark.. I dont advise that as the building has a clear flat roof and it is just not right for the rules to arbitrarily says its too high to fly up to. The Burj Khalifa it is not.
Anyway the plastic is unpainted, which is good because you can take the whole thing araprt and spray paint it befiore reattaching the windows. It will be easy also to make a ruine of the ground floor on the inside, make it come apart easier at that pojnt and thus have twom states for the building, whole or ruined, which is what i wanted to do to begin with, only now it no longer needs a saw.
The base said 140x140mm which was a bit much, but the rear parking is on a seperate stand so you can fit the condo onto a smaller space as the base its part detachable.
There is only enough room for two stands of DZC infantry, or three stands of MW A infantry, on the roof. You can fit more both on the roof and on the top balconies if the stands rest on the walls. A third infantry stand can fit reasonably enough over the siode room on the first floor 'balcony'. With a little bit of remodelling that area could be expanded to fit a base properly allowing a full squad to sit on top.
Tomix Condo set sells for about £15 on ebay.
Secondly I got this:
Greenmax No29 Station office kit.
This is a full plastic boxed kit on sprues etc. It has sheet plastic for glazing and has enough room up top for a whole platoon of defenders to be represented without having to place any inside or at the foot of the building. The open ground floor has two sets of stairs, one running into the bullding one running out of a whole at the back at platform level which will need to be covered in. Many kitbashes turn the ground floor into a mezzanine, there are lot of ways you can play with this.
Some people have stacked these kits to make skyscrapers, which will be easy to do.
As it stands the building is 4" high, excluding the ventilation units, repeating the central section will add another 2.5" to that easily bringing the building into the tall building classification for DZC if that is desired.
Because of the hole at the back there is some work to do to turn this kit from a station to a standard office building, but nothing difficult. A single piece of plastic will work, and as the ground floor is smooth untextured then any piece of pl;asticard will do. The hole is elevated half a story up so the platform access is halfway between the ground and first floor. It has a rim which make it convenient for filling with plasticard and furthermore allows the filled hole to be just right size to act as a billboard. All one needs to do is print off some suitable advertising and glue it on. With the molded on plastic rim it will look an intentional part of the orginal kit. Perhaps it is.
Here is what someone did with two of these kits:
www.quinntopia.com/2009/06/greenmax-29-x-2-58.html
So far Greenmax and Tomix have done nothing to disappoint, and the quality has exheeded expectations on inspection. My wholehearted recommendation for these kits continues.

If you can afford upgrade straight to Mega.
Not only is the deal better in terms of saving the army list is better also. The army boxes are made to visually compare with each other. Normally this works out, however the PHR large deal is really wierd, you have no choice as to how you deploy your walkers. You must add the four Ares and two Phobos to a single unit in the Poseidon and must have the two Zeus in a Neptune due to how the army lists are organised. UCM is strong when organised this way, PHR is not. You could buy an extra Neptunes and walkers to open things up a bit, but that would take you halfway to upgrading to the price of a Premium mega deal. If you can afford the extra £80 do so.
If you cant buy one Neptune, one pair of Phobos, one pair of heavy walkers (Odins, Hyperions or Enyos) and one pair of Triton A's to add to your Large deal, each is a seperate blister. This will open things out for you a lot and still fit in the KR mulitcase you get, get them from another retailer for your 10% discount. I recommend Firestorm Games, they are quick, will deliver to Oz for free and are in stock.

Just got my starter set yesterday finally, still waiting on other models pre-ordered to arrive, but I can actually play a game now!
A couple of the Neptune's came with miscast parts, one had a big gaping fill hold on the nose and another had the tail section that didn't extend far up enough to smoothly integrate into the front part of the hall, failing by about 3-5mm on either side so it's quite noticeable.
Other than that however, the rest of the mini's were excellent, I quite like the infantry especially.

Nice review / summary here:
http://www.crossgamingclub.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2909
Also note that Miniature Market is now listing DzC items as "out of stock", I guess to avoid more orders until they've filled current ones (like mine ). The Warstore lists I believe all Scourge items as "Aug Wave 2".

Sorry to hear that Armand. I pre ordered 4 Starter armies from Firestormgames. Then I ordered a rulebook separately. Last Saturday I received my rulebook and my starters shipped last week and are in my country making their way to my door. Did you order direct or through a distributor? Is there no way to check up on the order?

Hi Rat,
I ordered direct from Hawk Wargames' website; the courier lost my first parcel, and Dave has been very helpful in trying to replace it, but it seems that it's taking more than ten days to cast the models again, and now they are not responding to my e-mails any more...
This makes me very sad, because I was very enthusiastic about this game since I first saw it at Salute, but now it's turning in nothing short of a nightmare...
