The 4" Action figure scale crab mech from Avatar is on sale for 12 bucks for a limited time.

Quite large, but if you need a big 4 legged mech it's hard to do better for less.

I just ordered one for me and one for my son.

The Metal Slug kits are pretty delightful, they're a couple years old now, I bought one for a friend last year.

We discussed these last year, but the die cast Menards Dodge Power Wagons are back in stock.

The US Army example is just about a perfect replacement for a Jeep in a Weird World War 2 setting.

Not currently available separately online, but I saw some in a store yesterday.

Unfortunately I haven't seen a return of the Deuce and a Half yet.

Fallout players might like to look at the die cast line this year.

There's a couple different 1950s trucks that have that short, bulbous hood style.

I bring you Green Army Men!

Companies like Tim Mee and BMC have been putting out some really cool retro "Green Army Men" toys that could be good for all sorts of 28mm or smaller games. They're usually a waxy sort of PVC and may not hold paint or glue well but can be made to work with a good primer and some cleaning and sanding. If nothing else they can be wrecks that liven up any table.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CVLL7NKW/

This halftrack is about the size of a Rhino or Chimera.

https://www.amazon.com/BMC-WW2-Sherman-M4-Tank/dp/B000ST2E84

With this Sherman about the size of a Russ.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CL68P88V/

Or this Churchill Crocodile

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0864ZMFY8/

Field artillery

On the smaller scale are some aircraft

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2WMWYFG/

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJ7JYPV4/

The fighters look pretty underdetailed with hollow bottoms, I can't see them as anything but wrecks for a smaller scale game.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2WLWZLL/

But this B-29 with a 13" wingspan, yeah, that could work.

And last but not least, a GI Joe-ish A-10 Thunderbolt-ish plane.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DB2LZKZ1/

For some odd reason it has an open-topped turret in the back, only without any guns so I guess the dude just stands there with his rifle. Oh and no vulcan cannon either...

But it is huge (19") and can make for a 40k scaled bomber with some work.

Interesting to see BMC teaming up with Classic Toy Soldiers for some of these vehicles. Whether King and Country or CTS, BMC's best stuff seems to always be those items they're able to license from others.

That Churchill looks great, but with these toy vehicles pushing up near 20 bucks, maybe it's best to look for 3d printed models or model kits on sale?

(Spent last night learning the civil and military ranks of the Roman Republic)

Anyway, I may have finally found a source for appropriately scaled 3-wheelers.

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805388388219.html

3 wheelers/tuk-tuks/autorickshaws are ubiquitous throughout South Asia and can be found in other developing countries as well. Small and nimble, easy to maintain, they fill the gap between riding on the back of a scooter/motorbike and a full 4-wheeler car or truck.

At $2.50 a pop I'll definitely have to get a few. The dimensions are in Chinese length 8cm, width 4cm, height 5cm.

Those Tuk-Tuks look awesome! I converted a 1/35'ish scale one years ago and had fun with it, but it really was too big and I eventually sold it.

For those in need of parts for giant bugs, I'd highly recommend Bandai's Living Creature Encyclopedia line of gashapon. They've done all sorts of critters, including crabs...

...beetles...

...mantises...

And many others. A friend of mine uses parts from them extensively in his Tyranid conversions. They can be had for fairly cheap second-hand on Mercari (Japanese eBay equivalent) and they're nicely articulated and semi-modular.

Has anyone spotted small spiders/bugs at a dollar store that I might use to make Tomb Swarms with? Basically it needs to be cheaper than just using GW Tomb Swarms

I came across this McFarlane toy from the Avatar movies for about $18 US. It's a RDA Seawasp.
Going by the size of the man's hands holding it, it looks to be usable at 28mm scales.
There are also other toys in the Avatar series there that have potential, although of different scales.

I have that Seawasp, and it would probably work for most 28mm games, although it might look a bit small for something like Warhammer.

My son says the same thing. He really likes the transport VTOLs.

We discussed the Avatar toys a while back, but I don't know that anyone has yet posted a scale comparison. My son received both for Christmas. I'll get pics.

I will say that the cockpit seats and/or pilots that come in the two VTOL's are around 20mm (1/72) scale.

The Crab Suit Megafig is Huge. I bought one when they were super-cheap. I'll get a pic of that too.

That looks awesome. What a bargain! Does it have an opening cargo bay?

I would buy one if I didn't already have the Jango Fett 3.75" figure version that is almost the exact same size.

No, the cargo bay doesn’t open. Though I ordered the Razorcrest online and reviews show that one does have a side door and rear door in the cargo bay. Will see when it arrives.

Edit: it’s funny that the box calls it the Firespray but shows Bobafett. Boba’s was “Slave 1”… guess Disney didn’t like that name. In the Outer Rim board game Firesprsy was the generic name/ class of the ship and the upgraded one was called Slave 1.

Yeah, Disney decided not to have a ship with Slave in the name because PC reasons (and that's all I got to say about that as the Dakka mods won't like it if I rant about it here). At least one Lego version of the ship was simply called "Boba Fett's Starship". It will always be Slave I to me. The ship class is indeed a Firespray-class patrol ship, hence the Firespray name.
